I posted this in hardware but I think its more of a noob question.

Hello all. I have an xbox with a 200gb HDD with all my games backed up to it. I am buying a new box for my bedroom and question is is there a way to image my existing HDD to save time for my new box? I can do it the other way, but was looking for a time saver. Any input would be great. Thanks in advance!!

If you have an identical hdd you can use ghost, there is a tut in the tut section on how to do it.

Actually I was thinking of getting a 300 this time. Ghost will only partition it to the same size as the other one right?

Could I ftp my games folder to my pc and then onto the new box?

It may still work but probably not worth the hassle, I am unsure how ghost would handle resizing the partitions.

You can do a direct xbox to xbox transfer using Avalaunch, unleashx, xbmc, or a similar prog through a router or a direct xbox to xbox connection using a crossover cable.
