I downloaded the Kingkong demo for pc since it is the same as the 360 demo showed at walmart on 360. My pc specs are 6800 ultra video card/ Athlon 64 3400 clawhammer with 1mb cach/1gig of pc DDR 3200 ram . I also had the AA on the 4 setting. King kong him self looked Ok but the rest of the character models looked bad all togather and the environment dident look to great ether. So the pc version is the same as the 360 version thats showed at walmart. Plain and simple the game is just sorry. I'm not really looking for 3rd party titles to look that great at launch. This happend with xbox 1 at first i remember how some of the games looked like the could be on ps2 then as time went buy you started to see great looking games. It's all up to the developer on how much time he wants to put into making the game's look good. It all depends if they want to be lazy they may not make the 360 version look alot better then the xbox and ps2 version most of them may just port to 360 and tweak the game a little for the system.

I've read that the game is being built with the ps2 in mind, then code is sent to another developer to polish the gfx for 360....totally sucks...that's what I hated about current gen, game built to ps2 spec(cuz of bigger install base), then ported to xbox...at least games like the splinter cell trilogy showed who was boss...

Well king kong isn't built just for next-gen that's for sure, but it doesn't exactly look "bad", just maybe not as good as some of the other titles. Also I believe the xbox 360 is capable of much more power thatn your pc.

I'm sure it is smile.gif

i'm just letting people know the pc demo is not any better. A 6800 ultra is practically the same as the 7800 gtx their is not much difference between the 2 from what i read. I'm just pointing out i tryed the game on some great pc hardware and the game looks bad. It's practically one of the best cards out accept for dual 7800 gtx. Just making a small point that the game looks like shit no matter the hardware its on.

im sure we will see more of these games in the near future especially untill ps3.cross platform games that are built with xbox/ps2 in mind are just gonna be 'upscaled' to 360 with just a little graphical polish and maybe one or two extras.i dont think it would necessarilly take anything away from the game in terms of playability, just they wouldnt be truly next gen.

I agree SOME developers are going to let 360 suffer a little untill ps3 comes out it's just their little way to piss all over the console.

yeah good point, thankfully that doesnt go for the industry as a whole.also im sure ms are gonna be quite strict with quality control, probably more so when they are publishing the game themselves.

It's a hard decision for them to have to choose between having many titles available, from which each they get good profits, but might hurt the image of the console or then assuring tight quality control, having less games but earning more respect from buying audience.

On the other hand the game houses aren't in easy spot either. x360 install base is much narrower than of the old consoles and development takes more time because textures have to be sharper, worlds bigger and models more detailed. It's much easier to do just one for PS2 and have a small upgrade to Xbox.

I for one will steer far away from direct Xbox ports, they're simply not worth my $60.

yeah, one point i just thought of is,what about backwards compatability i mean could we see future xbox 1 games been made compatible with the 360.this would prob be a better choice for some cross platform games and could mean a lower a price.

blink.gif wink.gif
The 6800 ultra is middle-high class right now and it won't stay there for long.

I agree 100% with that....hopefully most developers won't stoop to that..
