Would it be possible to create a very small compact linux distribution which is only used to open up windows applications with Wine? For example, from the dasboard I insert a disk, launch the EXE the distro would load up and start the exe.

This would allow PC Games (and/or applications) to be easily played on the xbox, of cource only if WINE supports them.

Perhaps it would be possible to modify an excisting distro? X-DSL for example to do this?

Well i do have XDSL wine package workign pretty well.. (i need to update to the newest ver of wine!)

But you can certaily disable the xwindows and wine should still run..

Are you asking if xwine.dsl is the .9 ver? Because no it's not.. Just isn't stable enough on dsl (the binary package). I guess i could attempt to build from souce but time hasn't been my friend at all!
