OK Yes I am new to all of this and I have read up as much as I could before posting something but I feel I have hit a brick wall.

I had my modded xbox connected to my pc through ftp and all was sweet. I had unleashx as my dash and didnt like it so wanted to change it, I tried updating it to boot into XBMC as the dash and thats when the problems started. I did what I thought I was meant to do (obvoiusly did something wrong) and now my xbox loads up into the error 13 screen which now prevents me from connecting via ftp to change the file back.

I have put slayers 2.6 iso onto a cd-r, dvd+r, cd-rw and a dvd-r and the xbox wont pick it up (but the xbox has recognised dvd+r and dvd-r previously) but now it does nothing!

I have also tried an original xbox game which I had limited succes with. The xbox did something that I thought was promising, it loaded the game but it still prevented me form connecting via ftp and there is nothing i can do from here.

I have read and tried everything and just need some help, if anyone has got any help please let me know.

youll have to get it to read an evox cd, slayers will work, make sure you are burning it correctly

just put exoxdash.xbe and the .ini file (I believe) and burn it to a god quaility cd-rw or dvd. and make sure that the settings in the .ini file are correct based on your ftp connection. although this is a way to fix your problem, slayers is still easier in my opinion.

Ok I think I have found out what the problem might be, i wasnt finalising the cd/dvd after burning which it says in the slayers manual to do - will try it now.

If you make an evox boot disc you have to change the evoxdash.xbe to default.xbe and make the folder with the files in into an XISO

Ok still no joy - have burned the disc again exactly as it says on slayers manual and my xbpx still boots to error 13 page. is it possible that the quality of the cd/dvd is an issue? they are cheap discs!

Could be the media. Could also be the bios on your chip if its the latest X2 bios and its set not to boot default.xbe first

The things you can try.
Load an original game with live capabilities (A newer one) Run the dashupdate/liveupdate from the disc and it will update your dash.

You could try hotswapping the HDD and using XBHDM on the PC to put the xboxdash.xbe back on the C: drive.

The game that I am trying is Project Gotham Racing 2. I though that I couldnt put my xbox on live as it has been modded, i dont think i can turn the chip off. If this is game is ok for what you recomend, where can i find the dashupdate/live update on the disc?

I dont know what hotswapping is so ill do some reading up on that first before asking u.

Are you burning the ISO onto DVD as in you are putting the file onto a DVD, or are you opening the ISO and burning it?

You need to go file->open in nero, not just select data disc and then putting the ISO into the root.

Click on the live option as if you were going to play on live. It should start the update

Hey dude all you have to do is hot swap the xbox, and it is unlikely that the xbox wil boot those cd's with the evox program on them. It happend to me and I had to hotswap my xbox, but that didn't work. So you should just sell it to eb games, they do take broken xbox's and they will give you exactly $25.00 for it plus an extra $10.00 for it. So you will make a total of $35.00. You can then just buy a used xbox with a remote for $120.00. Then it took me about a month do redo everything and resoftmod my xbox and get some game mods back to my xbox. Basically you will learn an $85.00 lesson. Hope that helped. Anyways about the hotswap you should just follow one of the many guides on this forum. Hope all of that helped.

first of all i want to say sorry for nagging you all with my problem.

I decided tp open up my xbox to check it out and see what chip was in it and to see what this Fremch guy has actually done.

anyway there is no chip in mt xbox so im guessing its been softmodded.

any ideas if i can fix this error 13 on a soft modded xbox?
any help?

Yes..Just follow the tutorial, It's spot on..

Use Memorex 4x cdrw cds. And burn them on the lowest setting, remember to finalize the cd too. Slayers in my opinion is the best to use for this. I believe that if it does not boot the cd then your dvd drive might be out.

I had the exact same problem, and my xbox wouldn't read the Slayers disc on any disc even though it was previously able to read dvd-r and dvd+r.

I bet you have a Thompson drive, right?

I fixed my problem by buring the Slayers iso onto a DVD-RW. It worked perfectly. Try it!

Ok after an all nighter on the pc i managed to get xboxhdm working and reading my xbox hd and i transfered all of my old file from my oroiginal xbox hd before i messed up and now its back to its old self.
