What Is It?
The GameSpy Tunnel is an application that is used with GameSpy Arcade to enable you to play Xbox SystemLink games over the Internet FOR FREE with other Xbox players.

What is required?
In order to use the GameSpy Tunnel you will need:
GameSpy Arcade Software
GameSpy Tunnel Software
This application must be installed for the "Xbox" service to appear in GameSpy Arcade.
A MS Xbox console
A supported game (see below)
A FAST broadband connection. You will need at least 128kbps upstream bandwidth for most games, although Halo can require up to 256kbps upstream bandwidth per player in the game. If your connection is not fast enough you WILL experience lag and connection loss problems. No modem support is available or planned.
A supported network configuration. Most types of home networks are supported. Basically you just need to be able to plug your Xbox into the same LAN as your computer is on. See below for more information on network configurations.
What games are supported?
All Xbox SystemLink games are supported, however some will work better than others. Currently supported games include:
Deathrow (game bio)
Halo (review)
Ghost Recon (game bio)
MechAssault (review)

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2x (review)

You should seriously try XLink Kai and/or XBConnect. Almost nobody play's on Gamespy(ware) anymore. Too bad that only Halo 2 is mostly played on XLink Kai and XBConnect.

You should give those two a try, though. tongue.gif

I like playing online but I get so sick and tired of finding no one playing anything new for more than a day or two.

It seems majority of people just play Halo 2 all the bloody time.

Yes, I don't understand either. In my opinion, Halo 2's gameplay is... well, limited. It gets boring pretty quick.

I need to check whether SW: Battlefront 2 is played on XLink KAI. It seems like a pretty good game to play online.

Yeah I remember using Xbox Tunnel. But it was like one of the first tunnel programs. I remember using it in the days xbox first came out and I was about to get xbox live the first day it was coming out :-/

hmm xbconect, i havent used that in a long time....
it works well but if the game isnt really popular there wont be anny one (esp. if it is a old game)

I think I have played Halo 2 once for about 10 minutes.

Battlefield 2 is only Xbox Live, I haven't heard of an EA game that has system link capabilities. Maybe I am wrong.

Still xLink is a great system, I have been on Far Cry a few times recently.
