Definitely picking this up as the months go by..

3 new pics and wow. The last vid I saw looked awesome as far as graphics go. NFS "Looks" like total shit compared 2 Test Drive and PGR 3.
Kernal69er
But those pics aren't in game footage right? I hope I;m wrong

I see lots of awesome pics but they aren't in game footage but instead replays or cut scenes which, who cares about that, we want awesome graphics for in game

Umm those are ingame. The last vid I saw looked just as good and someone was playing it on a show floor, TGS maybe? So it wasnt a trailer, it was being played in real time.

I played Test Drive in TGS and it looked nice, but not *this* nice. These look like they're rendered in a modelling program.

If they really get this kind graphics out of it x360, this game will definitely look better than PGR. These screenshots are actually so flawless that having a gfx like this would make Test Drive the best looking launch title. Perfect shading, perfect AA, perfect motion blur etc.

All Test Drive screenshots have been extremely nice so far, but don't be disappointed if the ready game doesn't look excatly like this. It'll still look really nice and it actually appeals to me even more than PGR as a gaming concept.

Bizarre have modelled those cities very nicely, but if a had a $100,000 convertible, I'd take it for a nice coast freeway ride over limited city track any time. I think I'm getting both of these.

Yeah, because buying one means that you can't buy the other... rolleyes.gif

this game looks great. although i dont agree that it looks better then PGR3 its understandable given the scope of the game. the whole MMO aspect of the online mode is appealing as well. i wouldnt be surprised if the game looked a little bit better then this in fact.

i also dont understand why people dont count replays as in game graphics. it uses the same graphics engine and usually racing games dont enhance the graphics for its replays like they do in sports games. i have been very impressed with both this and PGR3 for different reasons as they are totally different games and im sure i will enjoy both games for what they are.

...can't polish a turd? don't tell Sony that, it invalidates their entire marketing stance!

These pics are nice but I still think PGR3 looks better...

PGR was what sold me an Xbox and PGR3 is what's selling me a 360 love.gif

They both look very fantastic, but the art style and gameplay is so different that they cannot be compared 1:1 imo.

PGR 3 has a sharp, accurate tv broadcast approach that makes you feel you're in a race and people are watching you. Test Drive has more of a movie-like qualities to it with it's beautiful countryside scenery and lighting.

agreed with both of you beerchug.gif

like i said, looking at a purely graphical standpoint PGR3 has more of a photo-realistic look but it doesnt have the scope that test drive does, so an even comparison is impossible. i will love both games for what they strive to be, and im sure they will both accel in how they want to play and entertain the player

Hahahahaahahahaha

Lets see someone deny that.

"Oh but MS does it too so quit being a fanboy"

Gimme a fuggin break. Sony is king at regurgitating shit over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Thats why they get along so well with EA beerchug.gif
Altima NEO
my friends tired of racing games.
According to him, racing games have gotten to the point where they pretty much got as shiny as they can get without looking too much different. If those screenshots are real, then this will prove him wrong. One thing he did say that was rather true is that not much has really advanced in racing games, very few are innovative, like Burnout, and GT4.

Burnout I can see as being labeled "innovative". But Gran Turismo 4? I kinda agree that racing games are converging on being graphically similar... but no two games will ever really be the same. There are just inherent differences in AI, physics, etc. BTW, I cannot wait for Burnout on 360. Yum.
Deftech
GT 4 Innovative?

jizmo
Burnout is really innovative. Too bad I actually hate playing the damn game, it has nothing to do with racing. Burnout 2 was fun because it was still somehow steerable, but Burnout 3 spoiled everything.

Plus, I'll never get a car game that has a rubberband effect in it. It is possibly the most annoying thing man has ever invented. It's like putting in a AI system in FPS that would get dumber when you're playing like shit to compensate your lousiness.

Anyway, I've developed a soft spot in my heart for Test Drive. I think I'll get it even if it gets 75/100 reviews.

Burnout 2 was my fav, there was at least a bit of racing in there.i know what u mean about the steering.ive played the others,i dont consider them bad games but they are a lot more about 'fun' than driving skill. At least before u had to go around cars, now u just seem to bash urself round. It does look fantastic, but only for the ten minutes u can be bothered to play before the inevitable booting of pgr2/forza.
