Hi All,
I just installed a new Maxtor 200gb hdd and now Far Cry (and other games) lock up at the main screen. I used the xenium hdd upgrade wizard to replace the drive. The drive was locked after the install. It seemed to work fine! I have a v1.0 w/ an S.P. Ice chip. I'm using the original xbox bios. Everything worked fine with the original hdd. The xbox boots up fine.

Whay are you using an original ms bios? Are you booting to the ms dash and then playing games. I assume these are the original?

There's no way you can boot any game from your HD if you are using the original M$ bios. The XBE will have a bit set that specifies that it has to be booted from a 'secure media'.

Yes, I am using the original bios. I have not changed it yet! I didn't master that ftp thing! The games are the original disks, they are not on the hdd. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that!
