Can't be unlocked without a backup of your EEPROM. If you made one (you SHOULD have...) you can use it with XboxHDM and unlock it. If you did not make this backup, your HDD is screwed. Sorry...

Hopefully you made a copy of the EEPROM or the HDDKey.
If your modchip went south then you need a LOCKED hdd (locked to your xbox).
Reason being, a HARDMOD can support both LOCKED and UNLOCKED hdd's, on the other hand, a SOFTMOD requires a LOCKED hdd. Chances are your hdd is already UNLOCKED and now that its not hardmodded, it wont work. In this case you would use your copy of the HDDKey OR EEPROM to lock your HDD to your xbox.

If you are getting a error code 13, or 16 then your dash is screwed up.

If you want it fixed you should state the error code you are getting.

I had an idea. Do you have your old HDD ya know the stock one?

^^ Blue's got the right idea. Unless you locked your HDD before (why?), you should just be able to pull it out and format it.

Ahem, bLuR.
Vayate thats your 420th post, time to celebrate. LOL

Ah, my mistake.

No hash lying around... what a shame.

Actually this is really easy to fix. Just plug the HDD into your PC and then make a boot disc with ATAPWD.EXE on the disc. Boot from the disc and run the prog. It will ask you to select the HDD you wish to unlock and then the for the password.

The password will/should be: TEAMASSEMBLY

That's it. Done.

Here's a link to the prog to make life easier.

Not sure if this will apply to your situation, but the teamxecuter.com forum has a thread that points to a program that might work (have to have a login):

http://teamxecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36274

Basically:
http://www.hdd-tools.com/products/rrs/

Costs $50, so you must decide if its worth it if all else fails (then again, you could by a new chip for $50). Good luck,

Jon
