The hard drive is clicking and I was wondering ,,,,, Toss it in the trash or can i put a new drive in. a factory original would be fine, we have no need for mods. Or is it to far gone for help. our xbox is unmodded

Buy a New xbox or fix this one its about 4 years old,

You would need a mod to put a new hard disk in.

Unless you had the Hard disk unlock code, but if its neverbeen modded you waont have that.

You cant just put a hard disk in, as it needs to be locked to the console, and you wouldnt be able to do that without a mod.

so because the xbow was unmodded when it died I cant fix it even with a new HDD.

Trash the whole system and buy a new one? A 360 maybe?

You would need to lock the new HD with the correct code, which can only be obtained by modding your xbox.

You wouldn't need to trash it. It can be fixed by installing a modchip.

Chip it. Put a huge hard drive in it. You'll be glad you did.

Do you play on Live! at all? If so, you will need a new EEProm as well as a new HDD.

never played live but we are or was wanting to go live. so which is best. my sons play mostly racing and sports games if that matters
