My understanding is this:

1.0 - 1.5 work on 1.0 -1.5
1.6 works on 1.0 - 1.6b
1.6b works on 1.0 - 1.6b

Is this correct?

No...not really right....

1.0 eeprom - 1.0 box
1.1 eeprom - 1.1 box
1.2-1.3 eeprom - 1.2-1.3 box(as 1.2 and 1.3 are virtually the same boards)
1.4-1.5 eeprom - 1.4-1.5 box( as well as 1.4/1.5 is same)
1.6-1.6b eeprom - 1.6-1.6b box


there may be a few exceptions there where some may kinda work on others....

for example a 1.6 eeprom on a 1.2/1.3 box will give a flashing red eject light with x2 4981 bios, yet will boot up fine with evox m8+_16.bin( a 1.6 bios)...

That doesnt make sence to me though. I have flashed my 1.0 Xbox with just about any eeprom.bin that has come my way, and it worked. Like yesterday I flashed it with a V1.6 eeprom using ConifgMagic 1.6 and it works.

So then I am right? I'm 100% sure I've flashed my 1.0 box with 1.6 eeproms many times. (Reason being to lock a harddrive for use in a 1.6 Xbox) And I think I've also flashed my 1.5 Xbox with a 1.6 eeprom as well (for the same reason).
I don't know if this matters but I've always had either an iND-bios or an X2 4981 bios while I've done this.
