Hey, i have recently bought a v1.6 xbox without a Hard Drive. I have bought a new maxtor 200gb hdd, and want to install that. I have all the info from an old standard Hard drive saved on my pc to copy over to the new 200gb Hard drive.
Basically, my question is - Because Hard drives are locked to specific motherboards, does this mean that when i copy the info from my old stock hard drive to my new hard drive will it work with my new motherboard?
Obviously as my new motherboard did not come with a hard drive, i am wondering if after the info is sent from an old stock hard drive to my new hard drive, it will not work with my new mobo?
Is this right, or will it work fine?
Many thanks in advance, Tom

How is your Xbox modded? chip, softmod etc..
edit: nvm, I read in your other post you have an X3, in that case it will work being unlocked. You'll have to repartition it to see the 200gb of space, this can be done with an install disc such as slayers autoinstaller. Don't just copy your old harddrives contents over.
