I've read that xbox 360 need a pc with windows media center 2005 for streaming video, mp3 ecc....
But from here:
http://www.MS.com/windows/windowsme...ct/default.aspx
M$ say this about Windows media connect 2.0...
Streams (plays) music and photos from your PC to your Xbox 360
Well, is Windows media center 2005 necessary or not???

If you want video playback, you will need the Windows MCE

Remeber that the 360 will not playback any divx / xvid files. I believe it can only stream mpeg2 and wmv files.
I hope that they change this with an update!

I doubt it BUT I will guess someone somewhere will "hack" this into the player
