[edit: sorry, I just realised i put this in the wrong forum]

As I was installing my xecuter xhip I did have some problems, especially with the soldering. I thought I had sorted them though. I also managed to drop my harddrive on the floor when taking my dvd drive to reinstall.

When I press the power button, the switch panel shows red, and after about 1 second, it reboots. after is has booted up 3 times, it stays up, but the chip still shows red and the xbox led blinks green/red

Is this caused by the d0 wire not being connected properly?

or a hdd fault?

or none of the above? (in which case I must have borked something else up in the install)

it's fragging. You need to check all your solder points.

I know this sounds so vague, but it's really hard to say which connection it is.

Just check and re-check all of them.

ok, would the d0 cause fragging?

or is it lpc only?

if it frags, the d0 has to be correct. like he said, check all your points.

If it frags it could most deffinatly be a D0 issue, but is also very likely to be a LPC issue, make sure none of the traces on the motherboard are damaged also and none of the smaller components have been knocked off the motherboard either.

I recommend making sure there are no shorts on the joints, and make sure all the connections are good on both the LPC and D0, also if your xbox is a V1.6 make sure your using the 5V mod wire aswell on an X3.

If your out of luck and live in the UK drop me a PM or email through our website, we offer a very professional repair service in the UK.

Best of luck fixing your problems beerchug.gif
