okay so lets lay down some rules right now:
1. "omg he has like 1 post, its spam!" my other account was "Lord Serebi" which had a whopping 30 posts, since december 2003.
2. "why so blurry" its nighttime here. there are no streetlights, i'll reitterate that over and over again
3. "its fake" this is something you just don't argue with
AND NOW THE PICS!

and

and

i was going to censor the site 9 thing, but now that its like less than 12 hours before it opens i just dont think it matters. techfreaks.org or some arbitrary site on google.com said it was going to be at plant 42, they weren't that far off

so i'm retiring from the first day of zero hour just to get back to the holiday inn's wireless and post pictures to you guys! i like money, in case anyone wanted to kno... xoverburnx@gmail.com on the paypal
so there was this morning when we went back to the base, remember that site 9 sign? covered.

oh yeh Hex 168 notifiers was seen on the way

!!!!! as i was leaving the hotel these girls had set up a desk there... and i was like "whats this for" they said "uhmmm... its for the winners of an .. uhmm *whisper* xbox contest" , and all their papers said 'top secret' and stuff like the hex website, it was hilarious
okay moving on
the base had a bunch of signs on the way up.. HALF of them were meaningful

so then it was just people in the parking lot, it was lame kuz nobody was doing anything like at pregame sports lot or rock concerts... security was being really pressed too they were checking trunks i asked why and the guy said "we're looking for people, weapons...... mainly people" lol
they weren't opening the inside of the gates till 4 and then not the hangar until 7 so i left, came back right before 7 and the hype was amazing
oh... remember those "lights" i took from afar last night? well they're back and better than ever

oh snaps! inside the gate!
xoverburnx
Nov 21 2005, 12:22 PM
continuing, there was an abundance of bean bags... yup.. and everyone was having fun with them

BEAN BAG MOSHPIT!!
so its near 7 and everyone's anticipating the hangar doors to open and then PETER MOORE comes out in the flash... and one of those other M$ financial managers (oops sorry i 4got)

okay so he says something like "do you want this hangar door open"
and someone (maybe it was a voice in my head) replied "do you value your life?"
lol, it was just too much suspense
so they open. behold...

[everyone ran in, i was up front.. almost got trampled.. had to bust some heads (jk)]
...THE ULTIMATE GAMING CENTRAL!!!!! you should be jealous.

Nov 21 2005, 12:24 PM
this place has the most xbox360's anywhere. even the biggest walmart doesn't have this many stocked. think about it. like everything was running off of a 360, the entire xbox live account managament tent was running interfaces for signing up... it was a vga monitor and it had a normal keyboard so i was like "oh cool program for the windows"... then i noticed the 360's by each one... yup its really awesome over there

GEARS OF WAR PREVIEW!!! it looks awesome... seriously, you shoulda been there, they played it.. omfg the sound and the graphics are to die for.
and then question and answer session.

okay now more pics w/o explanation
oh wait, giant fuseball table, thats awesome

any change of getting me one of those hoodies in medium. seems like they are throwing those things out. if you could hook us up with one i would be very greatful
xoverburnx
Nov 21 2005, 05:24 PM
not throwing out: they had us in like an assembly line to get the hoodies and the memory cards, then they marked our wristbands to make sure we didn't try again.....
i'll keep an eye open tho, i'm grabbing all the free stuff, i jumped thru a crowd to get this shirt they were throwin in the air.... i didn't even kno what it was........ turns out it was a quake shirt, its cool
they have an anoying habit of marking the wristbands for everything

xoverburnx
Nov 21 2005, 11:00 PM
yeh, i'm getting one of those faceplates too
i dunno if this has been confirmed somewhere, but final fantasy xi is playable here and it uses the playonline service
so, its not using your xbox live account, more money out of pocket for you.
BUT square has these characters loaded up on the systems that have some HIGH stats, like nearly 2000 hp

Hey man, sweet pics. I love that huge pillar of green tube things they set up near the entrance. That's a nice touch.
Hey, if you bring any faceplates, hoodies, or Memory Units back can I buy some off you? I'll pay you $35 for the hoodie (+shipping) and the MU and faceplate i'll let you decide on those. I really don't wanna go through ebay because ive seen MU's and faceplates for like $80 and Im not a moron, just a poor gamer.
Send me an email if you want to work something out.

Hell, if you're gonna try to sell your faceplate, I've got a standing offer of $200 for one -- preferably unopened, if possible. Note that I reserve the right to withdraw this offer should the faceplate turn out to look like ass.
xoverburnx
Nov 21 2005, 11:34 PM
NOT SURE WHAT I PLAN ON SELLING GUYS but here's what i'll have
2 faceplates
1 large hoodie (definitely keeping the other 2)
2 extra 64mb memory units
1 Final Fantasy XI Atlas book -- unopened
1 Quake 4 shirt (or is it a generic quake shirt)

Lol, you should've asked how she is in bed or something. If I had an opportunity like that, I'd be on that sh*t in no time
So, what is the deal with all the beanbags? I mean, they look kind of painful. I also saw people throwing them at each other while waiting to get in. Damn, that would hurt.

Nov 22 2005, 12:50 AM
lol awesome! looks like it would be smoking hot in there!!
xoverburnx
Nov 22 2005, 12:57 AM
haha question and answer time!
beanbags: a cool touch, they are comfortable enough, people sit on them while waiting in line to get xbox360s. its one of the more interesting good ideas i've seen for a long time.
inside temperature: some of the pics might look hazy, thats not heat, its just particles to make the lights have more of a glare or beam effect. its quite comfortable in there, the desert is weird, its like hot and cold at the same time. the sun shines hot, the wind blows cold, at night its like 40 degrees and you want to be inside the hangar
hmm we should bean bag adam sessler

Those bean bags are comfy as hell. And Adam is funny. I talked to him for like 3 mins. He told me that him and Morgan has had a 360 for about 3 months. Lucky bastards.
I might sell my faceplate as well.
I'm keeping the hoodie. And the mem cards.

We just left the Zero Hour event. We found a demo unit that we were able to boot into the XDK. I'll have pictures posted when I get back home (5 hour drive). There were a few items that we tried to copy to memory card, but it wouldn't let us. But we did find the settings to change region for games and dvds.

hey thats so awesome, i wouldnt b surprised if activision had one on site, at the food tent i got in a conversation with an activision employee, it was funny he kept asking us and telling us how call of duty 2 owned this launch, which i agreed with, and then turns out he was on the development team
i asked a buncha questions about the xbox360 and hardware and stuff, he went kinda technical but nothing revealing, it was cool though.
1. the xbox360 dvd-drive is fast, according to him
2. he hasn't used a non-devkit xbox so he doesn't actually kno how the hardware is
2a. he said the final dev kits OWNED tho, 60gb harddrive etc.
what an awesome event

u couldn't have missed me, i was on the big screen during the question and answer part of Gears of War. My godly voice boomed thru the speaker system.
my question was - after noticing how dark gears of war was, and how it makes use of shadows like doom - " do we get a flashlight in the game or will we need a patch for that"
i was right behind sessler in line when he got his 360. this was after the long line died out
i'm gonna get the footage from g4, i was on the phone w/ my friend while i got on live tv, it was cool kuz he saw me 5 seconds later

COUNTDOWN TO ZERO HOUR! that was so crazy, they drove TRUCKS through the hangar and threw the 360s out (it was organized, not like chaotic, onyl for people w/ their receipts from earlier)

Anyone who was at Zero hour, how many (estimated guess) would you say there were to play, and how many(another estimated) do you think they sold?
xoverburnx
Nov 26 2005, 05:50 AM
hmm, i think there were... uhm ....1, 2, 3,...... times 4..... plus...
i think there were ... uh.. OH a better way of counting... each launch game had like 8 stations..... wait, i'll try and be more accurate.. one by one.... *looking up launch titles* (ok i didn't do that. thats your job) some games only had 4 stations, like dead or alive 4 (two player fighting game... 8 ppl playing)
i think there were nearly 150 xbox360s playable. thats not including the restrcted areas for developers, i'd say there was another 50 xboxes in there too. some games had 2 players of course.
and sold? ummmm those trucks seemed REALLY FULL. there was one truck that didn't really get that many taken out of it, but i'd have no idea to say how many those trucks held. three trucks came, two were cleared out, (nothing but premiums) and one left
