If I paint the thing, can it mess with the system on the inside? Such as taking it apart, painting, then putting back together again. My friend did something to his Xbox (spraypainted or drew on it) and he said it messed it all up, so I had some second thoughts, and thought I would try to get some opinions.

I credit the other man in these forums for being among the first to paint his precious 360, but he made a somewhat bad move. He painted the air duct that guides the air from the fan to the heatsinks, if it's near the heatsinks, it's obviously going to get hot. With the plastic getting hot, the paint will begin to melt, and it's basically self-explanatory from there, my friend. This goes to show you should really think about what you're painting before you release the paint onto this system. Keep all the paint on the 360 external and don't paint anything on the inside. Whether the above novel helps you or not, I just felt it was necessary to say keep it all outside.

As far as colors go? Honestly, I would just stick with white! I don't really know what color to tell you as I don't have have a 360 at the moment.

Ok, many thanks. That really helps. When I first saw a pic of a black 360, I was like.....must have......

Haha, yeah, I must say, he is making pretty nice progress.

But I can't really say that Black is my cup of tea, I personally like all of my video game systems either crystal clear, or white. Someone in these forums made an interesting point about the XBOX colors: "When everyone saw that the XBOX was black, they wanted white. Then when everyone saw that the XBOX 360 was white, they wanted it black." Just something funny to point out there, but don't get me wrong, 360 looks excellent black, it's just I prefer white over anything.

Good Luck.

Ok, keep in mind that on the internet, when you tell someone to "stfu", they probably will not listen to you. I will display that perfectly for you, especially when I don't deserve to be told that because I haven't even said anything that would go into offense on your behalf.... uhh.gif

Relax. So you left in on all night, awesome, congradulations. It was just a theory, because you never know, your 360 hasn't been modded longer than a week, give it months. Something may happen, something may not....but lose the attitude, I never said the damn thing looked bad.

Don't be a douche 537h. thesamarchy was just being logical about the paint job, and wasn't putting it down or anything. As for the thread starter, I'd wait until some more people paint their cases and go through the whole trial and error processes with what works and what doesn't. Only problem is the majority of people are busy playing to bother painting right now. If you want to get some ideas on how you're going to have to go about painting, read some tutorials for the original Xbox.
