MY buddy was unfortunately only able to get the core edition 360. He can't find a hard drive at any store. The only thing he can find is a memory card. Will the memory card allow him to be able to get on live and save a significatn amount of games? He says he isnt worried about putting music and what not on there. So without the hard drive he will basically not be able to play mmorpgs and have backward compat. with origional xbox games right? thanks

Im not sure if you can get on xbox live with the memory card or not but the thing is he is going to miss out on alot without an hd more then just ripping mp3's, without an hd you can't download game demo's, HD movie trailers, arcade games, probably 360 themes or the extra levels for games that will be availible

hurleyskater1, you have it right. He will not be able to play Xbox games, nor will he be able to download huge trailer/demos. He WILL be able to get on LIVE, and he will also be able to do a lot of saving. In my experience, the game saves run well under 1 Mb each. So long as your friend doesn't save a bnch of replays, etc. on the card then he should be cool.

BTW, the card reports 51 Mb free when formatted, not 64... system overhead, I suppose.

Brad

20 gigs isn't that small but it is compaired to what everyone did with first gen xbox, The demos run about 800 or 900mb and the trailers probably around there so its not to bad but could be better. Im sure there will be a hack where you can replace the hd soon anyway.
