the 360 is sitting on a laptop cooling station. it basically has two fans in it and sucks the hot air out of the 360 and blows the air out the left side. it actually works very well considering it was only $20.

no everything was taped off and painted cleanly. as for the ring of light i put a layer of clear over it so it would shine a smokey green color.
the box looks different in person the way its painted it has a black gloss undercoat with some sparkles in it and the way the white is done it actually plays with the concave shape of the box it appears taller and looks like its sucked in more than it already is. and i wanted a high gloss to it so coats of a clear reflective glass was applied. and as for being half assed i do know what im doing with paint.

thats a 18x24 inch canvas 100% spray paint 5 layer.

this is but step one in a full case mod...

Well I've been modding PC's for the past couple of years and I decided to try my hand in the console world. Let me just say this... I hate plastic! It gets everywhere and it's so much more finicky then metal.

Alright for this I used a base coat of adhesion promoter then some layers of silver automotive paint and then red auto paint. Finally I finished it off with a high gloss acrylic top coat. Yea I did use a plastic prep to remove any molding residue on the plastic. Still have a couple o' spots to touch up and one more cathode to add cuz i broke the other one while removing it from the glass case ah well... such is life. I used plexiglass for the windows on both the case and the dvd drive. I'm thinking about adding an extra HDD but I'm not sure how much value this will add to the system (I'm selling it). Also will have two matching wireless controllers w/ red rings o' light and of course matching paint jobs.

This is a detail view of the backside although the XBOX lettering is somewhat obscured by the flash its all there.

For a first time job I'd say its looking great.

The paint used was "Duplicolor Mirage". Supposedly used for automobiles. Gives out 5 colors (red, blue, purple, black and gold)
Watercooling used is a compilation of Thermaltake Bigwater SE kit, water hoses from Lowes and Coolance waterblocks running on Prestone 50/50 Coolant on a cd storage case bought at CompUSA.
Only two memory chips were given heatsinks because of hoses taking space.
The Dual fan was cut in half leaving only one for air extraction (not needed anyway)

Soon we'll be trying out the clear DVD-ROM thing, internal lighting, etc...

... and yes i already demolished this snake skin case as well
i did a clip of movie of me demolish the case but it was too big for me to host anywhere, basically i tied the case to a chair and blasted it with my friend's automatic paint ball gun. and then soak it in acetone for 10 mins, come out the case was back to the good ol basic white.
Stay tune for my GothOrror project, this will be my last mod on this case and this will be the most original mod case you would ever seen.

not COMPLETELY a "mod" in the terms of many, but...

This is going to look really lame after that hardcore mod but i've just oil-painted my faceplate and thought you guys might want to see it:



I got the idea for this faceplate off somebody else's post on the forum and thought it was such a funny and cool idea that it had to be done, so credits go to that guy for designing it in the first place. Good on you, guy!

Oh yeah and before anybody complains that the colours aren't exactly right, I didn't have any white oil paint alright?!?

Anyway, feedback is welcome.

IT IS ALIVE!!!! after toiling since i last posted, i have finally completed it and i am quite proud of myself. thanks to hozy for making a very useful guide, krylon for making damn good paint, and all the members of this board for being supportive of peoples modding.

Here is my 1st attempt..... Kinda pissed off about my workmanship.. didn't take my time... GRrrrrrrrrr

Well still have to put the lighting in and the fans haven't arrived yet. But basically the bottom pannel gets a light similar to the power button and the base will have some green lighting, and my fans are green ta boot. But like I said they're not here yet.
