Hi,to do lzma compression read the original readme i found
on net i can not remember where from but info there i think.

All sxb projects will try and use lzma kernels etc
as sxbnew r2 not yet released kernel size was 1.1mb
now the smalles ever xbox kernel just under 700 kb

sxbnew iso files 270 original size now 230mb

so fo xdsl 42mb you could get 33 mb or so

other could use also just a thought ok

Any way read the readme file for kernel initrd.gz etc

But the other patches starting from 00squash and 00lzma406 patches
note 2 00squashfs patches one for kernel module and other for
mksquashfs-lzma.

these are not from these i think i found at lfs or openwrt
or some pub index site can not remember few weeks these patches
are old hence 406 version lzma src used by me and not 427lzma as
stated in read me files.

SO use 406 version of lzma ok and squashfs 2.1r2. to patch
and make mksquash-lzma ok.
might work with newer version. but i am happy with 406 ok.
as all tested with this 406 ok by me

Sorry all these files collected from net some 1 week old
and some i tested from before like 000 patches with sxb

so all these are freely on the net you can find.

the compiled binary files are for sxb there as an example to compress
squashed-lzma files etc ok.So not sure it will work with other
distro.

So please compile your own from squashfs and lzma etc.

i was going to make proper doc but i am useless at this,

so leave me post if need help i was going to do one with
sxbnew iso but sxb mediabox-DX is not finished yet so
sxbnew will be longer plus i spend time on own distro
Poorlinux and new minisxb so i am busy if i can get away
from windows and do some linux,as my bollywood project
i am falling behind.

Anyway also search in google index squashfs lzma patches
that how i did few weeks back ok for more info.

but you be ok i think its pretty straight forward.

So yes may be another first from bollywood for xbox-linux

the only xbox linux, xbox-linux site do not mention SXB why.

I had to say this i gave up asking a while back,but yet

Anyway no worries sxb will always try and bring new ideas
and interest to sxb fans ok and xbox-linux and please remember
its only me doing one man team doing sxb as keck,i have not heard
from him in ages i think he has sxb site still open unil he is back
i am on my own.i think he is busy,anyways it does not effect me doing
sxb as i build sxb he does the web site.so keck can take his time
whatever he is doing.

X-DSL's filesystem is already compressed with lzma (cloop uses lzma if you specify the highest compression level). The kernel and initrd aren't compressed with lzma but the potential space savings in doing this would be minor. I'd love to be able to squeeze another 9Mb out of X-DSL but I don't think it's gonna happen.

I've added sXb to the download page (and XFedora which also seemed to be missing). I didn't realise you were having problems getting stuff added. If you need things added to a protected page it's probably best to mention what you want changed on it's discussion page. Most of the wiki is unprotected so you should be able to add documentation on sXb if you want.

Hum,i thought squashfs Xdls is using hum,its still uses like pc damnsmall i am sure in my search
there was some mention of damnsmall and squashfs or they are thinking of it.
mabe there might be slight different in compressed size using squashfs or cram
and there was charts compraing best compressed distro. and the lzma-squash
combination got the best compression of all.Hence i thought wonder xdsl can
also get few mb to play with.Hum have you your tried squashfs and lzma
yet yourself instead of lzma and cloop crams.

So xdsl has a different method lzma and cloop
you surely have to try squashfs and lzma and bring size
of kernel even smaller i am sure you get some space or
is this not possiable.

and i also found 2 methods of doing sxb one lzma-squashfs method does not
make much different in sxb size it stays at 270 then i tried the older lzma-squashfs
they use in modems and fkash firmware chips this method compressed the size
to 230 these are the patches i include

hum keo had some great idea the other day i was reading
and last time you had some idea aswell you guys going to add
these in be great.

I will tell you what my new mini sxb i have not touched for a while
as i could not get size down but this squashfs and lzma 2 method i try.
yesterday is good news for sxb mini new.I do not think size wise sxbnew
mini will not be to far from the size of Xdsl infact if i suceed in
auto sxb mini auto moduling loding it be smaller than xdsl as default.
you see then certain libs etc can be injected in to running sxb on the fly
as long as ldconfig is ran straight after.So yes i still a bit away with
my cool ideas for sxbnew mini but squashfs-lzma will help now a lot.

me when some sxb users ask me in mail why can not we find sxb files or docs
at xbox-linux site and they have other distro like started way after sxb and there
names are plastered all over xboxlinux site. lalee and ed know how i fell about that.
and i left it at that.
As far as i am concered xbox-scene sxb and your xdsl these are the only things
i care about as far as xbox-linux goes as i know you guys have made me welcome

THAnKS, NO,frigold you know the site at xbox linux download where all all
xfedora gentoox xdebian xdsl cromwell xbox kernel patches and others.
they are all there minus SXB.

Now everyone knows most xbox linux get download from this site
ya they said they will add my link there to me before they never did.
and i stooped asking As that is the main xbox download site.
you know that. it seems to be a mnlopy there or freemasions
there where sxb is not welcome.
