Hello, after reading some tutorials and whatnot, i have gained some knowledge but not much. As I interpret it first you need to: Download xdsl in iso form(?) Then you need a iso burner, such as Burnatonce, then burn it to a cd-rw, and if you lucky, your xbox will read it, then just follw the instructions on the screen? I Have a 120gb hdd, so is there a way that i can just ftp it to my box?Thanks to anyone who just clear this up a little bit for me. Thanks in advance.

Wich one're ya using? Anyways, just dump the stuff on the E partition and move the default.xbe in a linux folder in the applications folder. That's what i do with XDSL.

Ok, thats what I did with xdsl. I then pressed linux in the apps folder on my xbox and It brought up the xbox linux xromwell 2.40 thing, Then it the option came up to pick etherboot or boot from a cd. When I press on etherboot, some stuff comes up and it continueally searches for the server (DHCP). Im really stuck here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

what files are in your root of e and in the KNOPPIX folder. it sounds like you are missing your linuxboot.cfg

I put the whole xdsl in the apps folder. In there, there is default.xbe, linux24, linuxboot.cfg, minirt24.gz,(and some text documents) then in the knoppix folder there is one folder called KNOPPIX. I dont know much about linux at all, so is this a router connecting issue or a missing file problem? Thanks

ok, you got the files in the wrong places, check the readme that came with it. it tells you where to put the files.

Ok, I did everything right up to this spot in the readme( im going with the saving it to my hdd option)

Im kinda stuck with those instructions. Do I just make another XDSL folder with the linux24 and minirt24.gz in it? I have no idea how to do that root thingy... Thanks for any advice

Or on the other hand, would it just be easier to create a boot disc?

that is supposed to be the content of the linuxboot.cfg file. which should be in the root of E. which means in the E partition, but not in any folders. i guess you could create it in notepad. maybe.

What is that root Appending thing?
