I've edited the evox.ini file like the manual said to do. It looks like this:

Section "Software"
{
Item "XBMP","e:xbmpdefault.xbe"
AutoAddItems "e:apps"
}

when i boot up in EvoX I go to the launch menu and I see the software section under games and apps. When I select the software I see XBMP is red and the scroll bar under it and I can't move it to select XBMP. I don't know where to place the files so that the installation will run smoothly. Anyone have an idea as to where I'm going wrong? I'v rebooted at least 12 times all with different configurations. Right now the files are installed on the "e" drive like above. I just don't know. Help please.

I did not change a thing in my evox.ini file - Just have this under "Apps"

AutoAddItem "e:"
AutoAddItem "f:apps"

The bulletin board removed the front slashes after the e: and f: so be sure to have those in there.

I edited my config file, then FTP'ed the XBMP directory on my PC (after using WinRAR to extract) to E: in a directory called xbmp

Make sure when you extract it unpacks with the correct directory structure

Working just fine. smile.gif

I took the "sections" part out of my evox.ini file as restored it to its original state. I then placed XBMP in my F drive and everything seems to be working fine except when I highlight "Xbox Media Player" (changed it from XBMP) it show the exox screen and then the screen goes black. Nothing comes up as if the program didn't load. I have installed every other program the same way such as XBCopy, Xcommander, and DVDX2. All work fine except XBMP. It seems that I am closer to getting this thing to work compared to my original settings but have just fallen short of true success. What do you guys think? Should I move any files around? Suggestions please. Thanks.

your on the right track. just double check that the file name of the media payer folder and address are exactly the same as what are listed in the menu.ini.

and use capitals for the partition names, otherwise it wont work

Item "Xbox Media Player", "E:AppsXBplayerdefault.xbe"
I noticed that you didnt put a space between the comma and "E
See if that helps.
Item-space-"Xbox Media Player",-space-"E:AppsXBplayerdefault.xbe"
