ok i get on my buddies xbox and download the update and the maps to his box , when i take my account of and we set up a lan his wont load the maps. but i downloaded them at my house on my connection. but we could play lan before i downloaded them to his box and mine are fine. we can go into the lobby and see everybody but it just fails to load the maps off his box and we cant start a game on any of the original maps either. and when i erase the maps and set up the lan its all ok.

I believe you have to load the maps a certain way.

After the Update

Restart the XBOX and FTP In

4. Browse to /E:/TDATA/4d530064/$C/

5. MOVE the /E/TDATA/4d530064/$C/4d53006400UPDATE/ Directory To /E/TDATA/4d530064/

6. RENAME The /E/TDATA/4d530064/4d53006400UPDATE/ Directory To $u

7. Load The Installer, And Install The 3 Map Packs, When That Is Done, Load The Game

Not sure if it will work but give it a try.

That may work, I've never tried it, have you tried borrowing a friend's map pack dvd? and installing that way? By take your account off, are you deleting yours off his hard disk and logging in with his? If so , that may be why, the xbox sees it isn't registered/downloaded under his XBL name and craps out
