LoL! The X360/PS3 will never replace the XBox/PS2/PSP in my house until it gets modded. Simply stated. My 2 cents.

Not at all. 0. Nada. Ever since I played the 360s the xbox is very unattractive to me.

I probably wont ever scrap my old xbox but I dont see myself using it that often 6 months down the road.

i would have to agree, i havent touch my xbox since i got the 360. all my love goes to my new baby.

I love my xbox too much to let it collect dust because of a newer model. Even if the 360 does get modded I think I will still be playing my original xbox for at least two or three years to come.

the 360's media setup sucks compared to xbmc. once the 360 can be modded, my xboxes (yes, more then 1) might get retired, but until then i still use my xbox for some homebrew games, the emulators, and most importantly the media center. definately loving perfect dark zero and the other 360 launch titles though

i reckon my xbox will never get old! although down the track i might sell it *tear*

I'm still looking to buy more Xboxes. I think 6 is my target (currently at 3). Until the Xbox360 modding scene is as developed as Xbox's is, I find much more value in an Xbox than an Xbox 360. And yeah, gotta have some pretty damn good emulation programs out there.

I will never buy a 360.

Im gonna have it untill the 360 can do all that XBMC can do.. or els ima bring this to the grave

my orignal xbox still has a nice home. and probly will for years to come. maybe whyen the 350 is modded we will talk.

When X 360 gets itself a modchip, and there are hardware and software hacks that suit my need.

My "old" xboxes are on about 75% of the time that we are home, and the 360 is on for some COD2 every other day.

Im disappointed with the new system but I think thats just because im spoiled with the best media player on the planet (XBMC duh) .

The games look better on the new one, meh.

I have 2 Xbox's, one is going in my car with a modded PC DVD drive. So it gets linux, xbmc, music, videos. That will be hooked into the sound system - no CD player or FM but all xbox. Its not going to get retired, it will live in my car for a long time. Im thinking wifi, ethernet hook up for external hdd...

I'm not going to get an X360 until its been modded and has xbmc (or equivalent). I don't play games very much now, but I use xbmc almost daily.

So the xbox is here to stay for a while at least.

I know that this has been mentioned a couple of times, but I gotta say that until an XBMC equivelent runs on the 360 my xbox will stay in the living room.

I'll be running my Xbox for years to come. I don't toss a console to the curb cause it gets old. I still play my genesis as well as many other old consoles. I have no plans on getting a Xbox 360 as there are just no games coming out for it at this time that interest me that are Xbox 360 exclusives.

If and when I get the 360 I will probably be using them about 50-50. I LOVE my xbox and when the 360 comes I'll love it just as much.

My xbox will stay in action until the sorry ass crippled media functions (streaming and onboard) are expanded by either MS, or a modchip.

I love my 360 apart from that. As soon as the 360 is as capable of XBMC or similar and emulators (Xbox and Mame etc), it may be bye bye Xbox.

Sigh... Never preordered, so no telling how long I'm keeping my modded box.


And you know what really sucks? It can't go on Live. No explanation-not banned or anything...

I'll barely if at all touch my old box even if it does have XBMC or Emulators, I rarely open them up anymore anyways, because I sure am lovin my 360 along with the games i got with it, they all look pretty dang good for launch titles and a few of them surprised me The xbox live features are awesome also, the achievment scoring is kick ass, and the market place shows promise, and so does the media section, the skinning options for the dash are ok, nothing spectacular but with an update hopefully it will get even better And playing my own music from a playlist on my ipod during any game...it's just great!

Seriously though I've pretty much stopped gaming on the Xbox 1, it's still a major player in terms of media though. I don't see the 360 completely replacing it until such time as the price comes down, it's got some stable mods and the XBMC and Emulator capabilities are on par with the Xbox 1... though I don't see that happening for quite some time.

The Xbox is Ugly and dated. None of the games interest me any more. Yeah Half Life 2 is good but why the hell play it on an Xbox when its on the PC. What I will be doing is hooking up my PC to my 32inch LCD install the 360 pad and play Half Life 2 in style. I haven’t been playing my Xbox for about 4 months now. I have lost complete interest. I have resorted to playing my high powered PC. Waiting for my 360 pre-order, once I get that I’m a happy man. We have been waiting too long for a new console.

And yeah we need an option, Stopped using it.

my xbox plays a lot more than xbox games, so it will always be getting used.

I will use my xbox untill the day I die. Its such a great machine it will always be in my room and will never sell it. its just the best thing i've ever bought.

There isn't a reason to own a 360 at the moment. Stop being such fanboys and open your eyes. NO there are no good release titles. Or good games for it yet on top of the poor performance and tons of complaints about crashes and such.

I like the xbox but the only reason to own 1 right now is to use it as a CASH COW. Get as many as you can and sell them to whomever is willing to buy it. More power to the people hoarding from friends from game stores and ebay. Make that money.

I have all of teh money down for the 360 but wil not pick mines up till February or March... in my house the xbox and all of its power still rules supreme.

Ps. As a graduatoin gift to me, my buddy brought over his 360 and let me hold it for 3 days with all the games currently out. there was nothing even eye catching except Condemned. The most I used it for was to watch movies

All I will say is that proclaiming your opinion as fact is assinine. There are PLENTY of people who disagree with you on this point and there are also many people who enjoy launch titles they have. If M$ goal of selling a half-ass 360 to the public falls though i wouldnt be surprised... Whats up with not being able to play video files from an external hdd on the 360??? thats the biggest load of crap...

We all know m$ got most of there ideas for the 360 from current mods and apps on the xbox1

xbmc=360 dash... whatever...... theres no comparison... M$ did a shit hole job on the 360... cutting back enough freatures to make me want to buy one just to destroy it... but hopfully it will get modded with a version of xbmc so i will not take out my anger on an actuall 360... its not its falt it has shitty software....

While I don't use my Xbox to really play games anymore.. I have 3 of them that get used ALL THE TIME as a Media Center as well as for streaming video from my FTA DVB card.

Can't see myself putting this away or replacing it any time soon !

I haven't played my PS1 for 3+ years. Why? Because the PS2 (and ironically my xbox) can do everything it can do and then some. Until the 360 can do everything my xbox can do, it will not replace it. I don't doubt that someday that will happen, but that happening within a year (with all the emus, XBMC, gigantic hard drives, softmods, etc.) is very very slim.

I don't even think im going to own one within a year, because it really doesn't impress me. My TV is crappy and so the games probably won't look much better than they do on xbox 1 and they really don't have any exclusives worth inversting 500$ for. Plus the quality of the games aside from graphics (plot, gameplay, sound, etc.) isn't anything that couldn't be done on the current geration systems either.

Seeing how I wont buy nextgen till I can mod it. It may be a while.

My Xbox will live happily aside my PS3. I can't wait.

For gaming? I don't use it any more, save for when four of my friends are hogging my 360.
For emulation? I'll use it for emulation for quite some time.
For media? XBMC is awesome, I just need a home made VGA adapter to work for a softmodded xbox 1.0 and then it will forever be the ultimate in media capabilities. (untill the 360 gets XBMC)

i couldn't agree more. but also as someone else said xbmc > * and that is why i moved my modded xbox from the gaming area to the living room ;p as far as games go though i prolly won't be playing too much og xbox

ill keep mine in my room at least until there is an XBMC360 (from what ive seen the 360s media center pales in comparison to XBMC) and beyond that i will doubtlessly have xboxes in other rooms as media centers or cheap linux PCs, ill probably keep using them until they all break down beyond my ability to repair them, lol

I know that its been said a milion times but I won't stop using my xbox until they can mod the 360 and offer all of the capabilities as the original modbox. XBMC is the S**t!
