First off, how does your post help the person who started this thread??? It doesn't

Second the COD2 issue doesn't happen until you finish the British campaign and then at that time you are put back to Russia and USA us not Unlocked

I have not found a work around for this, so I cheated and used the unlock all missions code to start playing the USA and finished the game

It happened to me as well the first time I played the game through on the normal difficulty. I think it happened to me when I started a mission and then quit instead of resuming the game. Not sure if this is the case for everyone.

I finally beat the game in veteran difficulty, and had no problems with it booting me back to training. Apparently there is a bug, and the work around (besides unlocking the levels) is posted here somewhere in this forum. I think it's just saving after every mission.?

it happened to me after i finished that el-amin level or whatever its called. And it wasnt right when i quit, because i played like 2 missions before that. As soon as i finished that mission it kicked me back to the start.

HA HA, omg It makes me feel so good when Im not the only one who is suffering from this. Sry it just makes me happy muhaha.gif ! I just did the all level cheat so I would have access to all of the levels, then just beat them on the difficulties to get your gamerpoints. Worked for me.

First off you dont need to be a douche bag about it. I didnt know what the COD2 issue was, I posted that saying i havent had any problems so far.

I didn't have any COD2 probs.

Should I feel bad know because I didn't solve his game prob or give him solid "life" advice?
I shouldn't post again until I've discovered the meaning to life, I'm sorry.

Your right, you shouldn't post again

People post for help, not for others to respond saying "oh never happened to me, or mine's fine"

I do apologize for being harsh, but this is getting out of hand, when people have to post for help and then read 4 responses that are crap

The Level cheat if anyone need it is:

Go to the mission select screen from the single player menu

hold the two bumper buttons and press < < > > on the dpad and then Y Y

(Hold LB & RB, left left right right Y Y)

Tada

how come it only happens to certain people? Maybe its not a game issue but a hard drive issue. Hmmmmm.

It's now happened to me twice, and I know what caused it. Not sure if anyone else had the same set of circumstances, but here's mine:

Only got the game a few days ago, so I wasn't that far. I had beaten the first Russian mission and was about 1/2 way through the first British mission. I decided I wanted to check out Live. When I connected, it downloaded a patch. I didn't have the info from my old Live account, so I cancelled bak to the dashboard and loaded COD2. I resumed my game and finished the current level. Went back to mission select, none of the Russian missions had been passed and the only British one that was finished was the one I had just beaten.

This morning I got up pretty early to see if I could get back to where I was. Played for about 2 hours, got back to roughly where I was before. Finally got around to retrieving my Live info from my old Xbox and signed up for Live on the 360. Didn't DL anything or play any games, just connected to Live. Went Back to COD2, same thing had happened...

So, for some reason the initial Live setup processes deleted my COD2 progress. I've since gone on Live, downloaded some games, played multiplayer, etc. Hasn't happened again.

I read in another post that it may be caused by switching gamer profiles while in the COD 2 main menu. If you have to switch profiles, go back out to the dashboard and sign out there, sign in to the account you want, THEN play the game. Try it that way, it should work.

I thought I was going crazy when this happened to me yesterday. I got the game on christmas eve, beat the first mission and part of the next. Then my brother in law plays it and gets me further. I take it home and finish out the mission that he had me on (I had to call in a fire strike on a bunch of tanks).

After I beat the mission I hit continue to move on but it takes me back to the training mission. I wasn't in the main menu. I would really like to know what's going on.
whitebwoy
i dunno, im wondering if maybe this is a hard drive problem. Because i dont have 2 accounts, i didnt do anything except play through the missions. When i got to the part the last guy was talking about it sent me back to training.

Just for you guys I went ahead and posted on another topic back on 12/21 how I been saving my games with COD2. I just beat the whole campaign over the weekend and have had no issues with me saving.

So here is my post back on 12/21 regarding saving CoD2:

12/21/05:

In regards to saving I myself have been reading all the problems with saving so I've been very careful on how I save.

First - I insert the game into the 360 before turning it on. I noticed that it takes a lot longer to get your saved game in the main menu when you go to the x-box dashboard then directly going into the game itself.

Second - I make sure that my Gamertag gets connected online

Third - I make sure that I go into "resume mission". Sometimes this option does not appear it only shows "single player" and "multi player" so I wait till the "resume mission" icon shows up. If it takes too long then I go into multiple player so that it can register my gamertag since the 360 assumes that I'll be going online, then I go back to the main screen and the "resume mission" icon appears. This I've done about four times and it has work all 8 times.

Fourth - The way I save the game is simply by hitting "save and exit" I do not save after every mission, I only save while I'm on a mission and plan on taking a break so I "save and exit". It works

Fifth - The other thing that I'm avoiding is not letting no one else (e.g. younger brother ) play the game as another profile or anything like that to ensure that it does not overide my previous save game.

So far I'm half way in the American Capings and have had no issues, the only issue is that sometimes in the main menu it does not have the "resume mission" icon so I do step 3 (above).

Hope this helps,
