Hey guys, I successfully softmodded my xbox. I had the Evox dashboard in place and all was good. But then <insert long sob story> I deleted all the files off my xbox via FTP. I do have a backup of the original hard drive and all, but I just don't have anyway to get anything back onto it. I have Slayers burned on a DVDR but it won't read it when I put it in. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well if you have your eeprom you could make a xboxhdm disc and rebuild your C: drive.. If you dont have eeprom or hd key you could hotswap with xboxhdm...Check my sig.
Also if you Softmodded with gamesave exploit and your xbox boots games you could try and reload the game save to gain ftp...But from what it sounds like you prolly cant boot games...

xboxhdm is a great idea. I hadn't even thought of it, I kept trying to figure a way to get Slayers to boot. Thanks!

Great.... apparently when I backed up the MS and MOD backups it didn't backup my eeprom.bin. I have a brand new hard drive to put into this, but don't have my xbox's eeprom.bin. I'll try hotswappin it.

If your missing a back up you could always extract the slayers ISO and snatch a copy of the files off of there. (C and E drive files).

Ok need some assistance please. I tried hot swapping it, but in the hotswapping instructions it says to wait until the MS pops up, the problem is mine doesn't do that. It gets to the point where it would but then immediately goes to the green "Service required" screen.
Anyone have any suggestions? I've heard that there are places you can download a hard drives eeprom? I've got other drives, and I've also got other xboxes softmodded successfully (with original drives). If any of this will help I'd appreciate any suggestions you can give. Thanks.

Make sure you read all of the hot swap tutorial, I think you're skipping around. Which is dangerous... Unplug your dvd rom ide cable first, and you'll get an error and service screen that will unlock the hd for you. Then proceed.

Unplug my DVD ROM cable from the Xbox's DVD rom? Hell I didn't even realize I had to do that. I was following the guide listed here:
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=225796Lemmie try that and get back to ya. Thanks by the way.

after you finish with doin this you might wanna consider doin a TSOP flash, that way if somethin like this happened again you could just slap a new hard drive in and boot slayers. the xbox-linux wiki page has a great TSOP flash guide

I got it up and going now. Thanks for all the help. It's only showing 120 gigs on my 250 gig hard drive, but I think there are some tutorials out there on how to fix that. I'll be looking into those.
