About a year ago, i modded a friends xbox with ude2 and used UiX as the dashboard. Up until recently it has been working like a charm. The other day one of his friends used his xbox and had done something to it. The dashboard would not boot anymore. It would just stay at the XBOX logo screen. I told him im pretty sure i can fix that as long as no game saves were deleted. Keep in mind, that he could still play Original XBOX game discs from bootup. About a week later, the ability to play xbox games stops working. The system will now only power on to the logo screen. What can i do to fix this problem?

Well, the first thing you should do is re-softmod and FTP in once you have the game save loaded. Poke around the hard drive and see if anything funny is going on. You might want to un-install the softmod and re-install it if nothing appears to be wrong -- as with all software, sometimes glitches happen and you need to reinstall to fix them.

I would try restoring the Xbox's C drive to stock, using XboxHDM. This would replace any damaged or missing files needed for a correct startup, letting the Xbox boot as virgin. Re-installing an exploit could also be done from that point.

yeah xboxgamer733's method is pretty much the best way. i hope you backed up the EEPROM on a computer somewhere though or you will not be able to relock the hard drive.

Actually, the hard drive will be re-locked as soon as the Xbox is turned off.

But it is a good idea to back up the EEPROM as soon as possible
