How do you install a new hard drive with a softmodded xbox? My friend has a softmod and would like me to install a hard drive for him. Is it as simple as just booting a auto installer and choosing install new drive like a hard mod or does something more have to be done?

Its very hard and complex, because the softmod is on the HD so unplugging the HD to switch to another=hard.

Do what I did when I had softmod it took maybe 5 - 10 mins ... just hot-swap the new HDD.

Um... that could cause problems because you didn't tell him to prep the new HDD with the softmod files. If he didn't do that, he'd be stuck with a locked HDD and an error 13. Sure, he could hotswap the old one back in, but it'd probably be easier to not have to in the 1st place.

Well the average person would go look at a tutorial now wouldnt he/she?
