Hi

Has anyone played Windows Media High Definition Video (WMV HD) sample clips from http://www.wmvhd.com/ or any 720P HD Movie Trailers with the Xbox 360 + Plasma or Projector?

Is it fantastic ?
dracus
You can play them as long as you have a Media Center PC. They indeed are fantasic. They wont play from disc however which is something I hope m$ fixes.

Yes if you use VMware. This is how I do it and it works great.

Great !!

Just to be sure ...

Are you talking about the VMware Player ?

Do I also need the Browser Appliance Virtual Machine ?

Is it completly free ?

Windows MCE2005 IS Windows XP with some enhanced functionality. The only difference I noticed is that there is the Media Center program. I don't use XP Pro anymore because MCE is XP with some extra flavoring... You don't need VMWare to run MCE in XP... just use MCE instead of XP. As for the WMVHD, I haven't tried many, but hopefully they'll broaden the functionality of it as it's pretty damn cool.

It sounds as if we can now use the demodisc ISO to play wmv-HD now, no need for MCE. By swapping a .wmv file on the disc with which ever .wmv file you wish to play. I'm wondering if there are any restrictions on this work around though.. ie, does it matter what WMV version (9, 10?) or length of the video? If not, this will be a great solution to using WMV-HD on DVD9's.

I have MCE 2005 running on my PC and it wont stream those clips to my 360. Not sure why, has anyone tried those video from the first post of this thread?? I'd sure like to get this feature to work with my 360, I love watching HD videos. I watch INHD all the time on TV. Can someone help. My 360 says their is a disk error when trying to stream it.

P.S. It'll play WMV's just fine.
