im looking for a easy to install or solderless mod chip. i have some soldering skills, so either an easy to install solder on or a solderless one. i need it because i unlocked my hard drive and forgot to lock it. now i get an error 05 becuase i forgot to backup my eeprom.

the tsop is the cheapest and almost the best solderless solution (only some solder drops required) BUT its only possible on non 1.6 mobos. otherwise the duox2 is one of the best lowbudget chips available!

A TSOP flash is not one of his options, as it's very difficult to flash in the 1st place without an Xbox that will boot to an exploitable game.

If you're REALLY looking to save money, go with a DuoX2. Still, you may want to research newer chips, as one may server you better in the long run. Of course, newer chips do have a lot of functionality the average user will NEVER use, so don't think you have to buy a Gen4 chip just to lock your HDD.

BTW, it says in your sig that you have an X3 and a TSOP flash. Why? Seems kinda redundant to me.

its even impossible to tsop flash with unlocked hdd when there's only stock bios on tsop ... thx for the correction

Agree with greenday, it's redundant. Where I can see your point on using a stock BIOS without using Live! is useless, why did you buy a modchip if you could TSOP? or if you TSOP'ed later, why not sell the chip for at least a little $ or something... It's like having a modchip on top of a modchip.

But this topic isn't about the very rare double-hardmodded xbox of manu_xl, it's about a cheapmod solution

got some balls? get a DuoX2 for like 18 bucks at divineo and solder that little chip in there

solderless? SpiderChip?? I don't know, I don't like solderless
