I am sure there is already a post about this but, I have searched for a while and cant find one, so I'll just make a new thread.

I am new to xbox modding, and I am not interested in all of the features of the modchips, but I want to be able to save xbox games directly to my xbox HDD. I have heard of it being done but cant find an article on the subject that doesn't leave me completely puzzled by the end. My question is simple; What exactly do I need to get to be able to save games onto my xbox HDD? I think I have a version 1.6b, and it is completely stock. Sorry for the newbie question.

Thanks smile.gif

go here and read Here . your going to need to void warranty and a bigger hard drive of you are wanting to put games on your HDD
xman954
a stock HDD will only hold 1 to 3 games
you can use DVD2XBOX to copy games

but you need to softmod it first

hotswap a exploit it
OR
use a gamesave installer

Ok so I need to get a bigger hard drive. Thanks for that part.

But about the softmodding, I tried to use DVD2XBOX but I am extremely confused on the use of it. Are there any other programs that are more user friendly? What softmod would you reccomend?

By the way, is DVD2XBOX used to copy games or save them? I read the FAQ on their site but it is very vague and doesn't really help at all.

You can not use DVD2xbox until you have a mod of some sort, softmod or chip. You need to do alot of reading if you want to softmod your xbox with a larger HDD, The process is involved and can leave your xbox requiring a chip if you dont follow the correct steps.

HINT.

Once softmodded the FIRST thing to do is get a backup of your EEPROM on to your PC.

DVD2XBOX is a utility than runs on a modded xbox to backup your games or DVD's to the xbox hard drive.

What softmod would you reccomend? After I get it, should I use DVD2XBOX? How do I back up my EEPROM on to my PC? Sorry for all the questions.

Wow this is confusing.
So basically:

1. Get a higher capacity HDD
2. Get a softmod of some kind
3. Get DVD2XBOX
4. Backup my EEPROM on to my pc

What do I do from here?

You could try reading the link in chorizo's sig. If it seems to confusing find some one in your area to mod the box for you.
