Picked up my preorder of Dead or Alive 4 today. Popped it in, title screen, menus, they all work fine. But once I start playing, during the loading screen it will freeze the unit. Has any one else have similar problems with this game?
My Xbox hasn't frozen before on a 360 game before so I don't believe it's my unit. The one thing odd about it is that right before it freezes, there will be a sound like the dashboard is being pulled up (like when you press the “X” on the controller). And when I eject the disc I see a blank right side panel of the dashboard appear and then the full dashboard will load up. I will keep trying different things, though it looks like I will have to take the game back and try another one to see if it is the game or my system. Anyone have any suggests for my problem?
UPDATE: I've isolated it to just not being able to play as Kasumi.

I had a same issue I got a black screen, but I could still reset and it worked fine afterwards. It was during a cut scene.

It sounds to me like the game is freezing up the 360 whenever it searches for a saved game on the hdd. I would go try another copy. MS claims that all the glitches are with the software and not the unit itself.

If you're confident that it's software-related, then here is what you should do:
Take your receipt, 360, unscathed (no scratches) DOA4 game and the games that work properly to the place of purchase. Ask to speak to the manager to prove your point that it's software-related. Play games on your 360 to show him that it works fine. Show him that the DOA4 has no scratches/fingerprints on it. Then, insert DOA4, and show him where you can't play as Kasumi. Once you do, I'm fairly certain that he will show some compassion and allow for an exchange.

I've only had it sort of freeze on me once. It was in an online match right after I won, it stuck on my character for about 5 minutes. I could use the sticks to zoom in and out and look around the area. I could talk to the dude I just beat and he had the same thing. I just waited it out and it eventually went back to the lobby, but I was the only player left.

My copy only freezes when I try to view a player's card while in a lobby.

You're kidding right? There's no need to bring the 360, any decent store will take the game back and give you another copy if you say it doesn't work.

No. Not all store managers are as accepting as you believe.
