I have my xbox softmoded and everything works fine except when I try to load linux from evox. Everything is up to date and I still have this problem. when it loads the screen goes black and after about 5 or 10 seconds light on xbox blinks orange 4 or 5 times and shuts the xbox down.

Try open xdsl from unleshx (just another dash) from filemanager.

Did the same thing again. Does it matter what version xbox you have maybe?

I softmoded 2 other xboxes at the same time I did this one and xdsl works fine on them.

Apparently, some people, including me, are experiencing this bug, but the cause of it isn't totally known.

I've noticed that if I try to load X-DSL while my Xbox is connected to an HDTV (in actuality, a 21" computer monitor), the LEDs blink orange, and the Xbox turns off after a few seconds. But, if I load X-DSL while the Xbox is connected to a TV using the standard composite cables, it will load fine.
