although I've got XBMC, I only use it to play video's/movies, for everything else I prefer UnleashX

if it wasnt for qwix + ava +ava's great ftp. id use XBMC as my main dash

Use unleash x for my main dashboard however for my movie needs I often turn to the Xbox media centre.

i use media center only as a media player, but its a very stable and feature laiden program. nice GUI

Anyone who falls into the second category (no (Xbox is modded)) deserved to be shot. I use UnleashX as default though due to that I prefer it for booting up games/apps, and adjusting my softmod settings but XBMC is the best for anything else. I have avalaunch installed as well but rarely use it, (only for avalaunch + qwix for the occasional ftp use).

the only reason i use my xbox is because of XBMC... even though i use unleashX as my main dash... quite ironic... VIVA LA XBMC!!!

Interesting, I use UnleashX as my main dash too. But for all my media needs I use XBMC. I even use it instead of the xbox 360 for media. Mainly because I can't get the stupid media extender program to work right. But even if it did I couldn't stream video. So here's to XBMC

I love XBMC. I havent updated it in a few months though. I still would use it all the time when my Xbox is turned on. I just hooked my Xbox up again and just need new cables so I can get it online again to use the online features. I always loved the simple weather feature and scripts and streaming media. Its weird, so many features of the 360 that I love are ones that XBMC already had.

XBMC is the main dashboard on my xbox.
It's probably the greatest app/dash for the xbox.

i too use unleash as my main dash because of its features for loading the games but im soooooo tempted to make xbmc my main dash. Xbmc is a reason on its own for modding your xbox, i love everything about it and would like to thank each and every person involved it its creation and ongoing development, you guys rock! TY!

What do you want to shoot them with? I have a 16 gauge auto, and a 243 at the house, we could use handguns though.

I have been using XBMC as my default dash for quite a while. I've been through Evox, Avalaunch, UnleashX, but I always find my way back to XBMC. Since I use it as a dash, i definitely keep it updated.

XBMC is one of the greatest things since sliced bread. I don't use it as my default dash - I use EvoX - but, for streaming media and managing files, it's great.

XBMC rocks. If you are using an old version, be sure to get the updated ones. You'll be blown away. I strongly prefer the T3CH (tech) releases as they tend to be built really well with a wide variety of features.

What does UnleashX do that XBMC can't do? Keeping in mind that XBMC will soon have native support for trainers.

i love xbmc, have had it as my dashboard for awhile now. its the only reason my xbox gets used lots, i dont play games that often, just stream downloaded movies and stuff.

I've used unleashx awhile back and wasn't too impressed. I don't see what all you guys think is so great about it. I used to use avalaunch as my dash until a little while back when i switched to XBMC for my dash. I couldn't be happier with XBMC, the ongoing development is great, the GUI is amazing, very professional. Thanks to the whole XBMC team for giving us such a great app! Now lets just hope the 360 gets cracked soon and a port is on its way. Just think, XBMC with HD support =)

Have used xbmc since it first appeared. As it matured it became my default dash.
It is without doubt THE best app developed for the xbox. The xbmc devs and contributors rock.

I use MXM for my dash (because I can have animated menu's like The Architech Skin and have preview videos for my games) and I use XBMC for all my Media needs.

Using XBMC as a dash, whats so great about Unleash X? Gotta love Shoutcast radio for XBMC, PRAISE THA LAWWWD!!! (Lord) hah

Well, I, like everyone else started out with EvoX, I then went through every dash, Ava, UnleashX, MXM and the modded M$ Dash, but when i arrived at XBMC, I was blown away. It beats the others by far. I'd like to thank all the devs and coders for XBMC. You guys keep the modding scene alive!

I use Unleash X as my main dash and use XBMC for movies etc , I have no idea if my version is up to date or not they keep coming out with updates every couple of weeks lol , why dont they just not release one for awhile then release one with a massive load of bugs fixed instead of fixing a few and then releaseing fixin another few then releaseing i dunno about everyone else but i got far more better things to do then to keep updateing this app every couple of weeks , all the time you take to do this you dont get that game playin time back you know lol but yeah to the guys that are dedicated to XBMC keep it up you work to much LOL at least you take care of your fans unlike a hockey player i keep hearin about on tv lol anyway thats my 2 pennies wourth .

In my opinion, XBMC is what makes owning the xbox worthwhile. I too am very tempted to change from UnleashX as my main dash to XBMC. The only reason I haven't is because at one time XBMC wouldn't rename file names when ftping, but I think it does now. So when I get around to it I'm going to make it my main dash too. There doesnt seem to be very many XBMC themes around. Don't get me wrong, I love the latest Project Mayhem theme, but its nice to change things up every now and then.

The only things I believe that can be improved on is:
-DVD playback function (Needs more options. Try playing a tv show boxset, its much easier to use DVD-X2 dongle free DVD player, because it acts like a DVD player)
-Hmm that's all I can think of at the moment, but if possible in the music options if they let you actually adjust the fade-in and fade-out for the cross fading, I would cry. =)

I don't play retail games, and only occasionally an emulated arcade game.

XBMC is the *only* reason I own an Xbox! I use it every single day to listen to music.

This is also why I haven't picked up a 360. The 360's media features can't hold a candle to XBMC.

i still use evox as my dash, as all i need a dash for is to load my games and apps. but i have my xbox tucked away in my theather system, with a remote, so i run xbmc, and impress my buddys and family. I love the stream all my vids/music from my pc. So most the time, my 42 " has xbmc running with music. If not i would just pay for the digital cable's "music" service. lol

It was until I sold my XBOX.

I use UnleashX as my main dash and guess, I use XBMC too plays EVERYTHING you can throw at it

I have it installed, but i never use it. Ava is so much better that i have no use for it. plus i have a dvd player/cd player in my room to so there isn't much of a point.

XBMC is my default dash. I don't use nothing else, there is really no reason to.

XBMC is also my default dash. I do keep Evox and Avalaunch as backups in case I fubar my XBMC. The team that works on XBMC deserve all the praise we can give them. This software is what Media centers should aspire to be. Thanks to the XBMC team for their continued hard work. It is VERY appreciated!!!

Hold up folks, the poll is simply asking whether or not you have XBMC on your HD, not whether or not you have it as your default dashboard. Just about everyone voted yes, so I think it's pretty clear that XBMC is a significant force in the modding community (despite what the Pizza Delivery boy tried to argue in the "How much longer do you plan on using your XBOX" thread). Anyways, XBMC is merely an app on my machine but it gets a shitload of use, for the reasons mentioned above. There is no other media player that will give you the flexibility and versatility that XBMC will for the price.

I use XBMC for everything (media & dash). I used to have Evox then later Avalaunch but got bored of always switching between two programs. So XBMC all the way!

I run 2 Xboxes one in the Theatre the 2nd in my bedroom both with XBMC as primary dash.

I did use AVALaunch before but found I was always in XBMC so it became number 1 by demand.

I don't seem to have a problem with it (other than it being somewhat unstable with some DVDs). TV boxsets play just fine.

Also, can anyone tell me what features UnleashX has that would make you use it over XBMC?

And until I can play my collection of several thousand NeoGeo/Megadrive/SNES/Master System/NES/MAME/N64 games on an Xbox 360, I won't bother 'upgrading', as the prospect of playing all the same games again with sharper graphics isn't exactly blowing my skirt up.

Personally I'm not going to care if I get an xbox 360 for my birthday, without halo3 there's no sale for me. I bet about 10,000 other people are feeling that way right about now.

Of course its installed, its the reason I bought an Xbox in the first place (well XBMP was). Awsome awsome media player.

I used to run evox as dash, but since i began to use evox to start xbmc, i switched to XBMC.

i still have evox and ava installed as apps. mostly for updating xbmc or flash my bios with a newer one.

I use my xbox primarily for watching videos streamed from my PC, so it only made sense to make it my main dash. I really only ever switch to Ava for ftp'ing, especially now that XBMC play DVD menus.

as soon as the trainers are supported in xmbc i'll make it my default dash. (what can i say, i'm just a cheater)
