ok I have samsung dvd that I put in like a month ago (605b drive) I got my xbox flashed and put to evox2. I have been having probs before flash (hoping flash would help/fix the prob) it didnt help. But I was playing amped 2 and the loading screen came up and stuck and I let it stay like that after a minute or so it went back to the dash screen with D: "checking" (amped still in) and now it says "unknown"??? (also have loading problems with san andreas during game) Does this mean the drive it bad??? Any input would be much appericated.

Ok so your box doesnt have a chip? Possibly the flash. It probably cant read the media on the game. Um, try using a flash known to work. Then again, it may be the DVD drive. If possible, try using the Xbox without the mod, and re-wireing it for the origional MS dash if you used the wire method. This may work, may not. Hope this helps.

sounds more like a media issue are you using cheap media? or even really really good +R will do that in a samsung, as even if you tweak em like crazy they still dont like +R DVD
