i got my xbox mod about 1.5 year ago and recently it has been acting up. it no longer plays new games without freezing during gameplay and it wont download the games either. I have about 15 games saved on hard drive and they still play perfect. One of my questions is: How long does a xbox usualy last after the mod? and how can i fix the problem? i have the room on the hard drive but for some reason it just wont copy anymore... the dvd also freezes some during play

i'd greatly appreciate some help.

FTP In to xbox OR use a file manager (If you have one on your dashboard) and try deleting all files located in the X, Y , Z and E:\Cache folders

What exactly will that be deleting???

crap that you dont need. will probably be files named like gta3.img and stuff like that. usually several hundred megs. you dont need any of em. also make sure that there is plenty of space left on your E drive. low E drive space can (and will) cause lots of problems.

Those areas that i mentioned SEEM to be used by xbox games to store temporary files while they are being played and usually deleting these areas can clear up problems

Mine are usually empty anway and i haven't run into any problems

i tried deleting the x,y,z files but it wont delete!!!! it shows: 999 Unable to delete file "file name" Error was:32



it did that for all the files in the y folder. the z folder has all the same files in it and the x folder doesnt show it has anything there but still reads that it has 749mb in it. the y and z folders show 748mb


under the E:\cache folder there are also TDATA and UDATA..do i also need to delete those contents??

TDATA and UDATA i am not shure what all they hold but i can tell you they hold saved games.
as for the xyz drives if u have a xenium ice chip u can clear that cache by going into the xenium os by press eject to start up the xbox

and gow do i know what kind i have???? i've had it for almost 2yrs now
