Intend to do a softmod by using xboxhdm and hotswapping method. Can I use a ATA100 cable to connect to the Xbox HDD? Pls advise, thx.

Well, considering that the stock cable in the Xbox is (I think...) an ATA100 cable, it should be fine. It may be less, like ATA66, but even if it is an ATA100 cable will be fine.
