Is it possible to mod any game? I have 2 games NHL 2k6 and NHL 06. Is it possible to edit the game files like the audio or graphic (the ice to be specific) if anyone has any info that would be great, thanks.

Modding textures is relatively simple if you know what you are doing...

Most (perhaps all) xbox games use dds format textures in their games. There's a photoshop plugin that will allow you to edit them available on NVidia's website... It's really just a simple matter of finding out how the game designers stored the dds files. Sometimes they just leave throw them in a directory, and sometimes they group them together into a single file or encapsulate them in some way. That can make things a little tricky, but if you run into something like that, post it here and someone may be able to help you out.

All the 2K series of games use large archive files, and you would have to extract out what you want. I am not so sure about the EA NHL games, because they absolutely suck. wink.gif

awwww ya! .. aint that the truth!.. EA BLOWS! :]

anyone have roster updates for NHL Rivals 2004 ? :]

Ya that is a problem. NHL 2k6 is just one folder with 11 files about 200-500mb. And i can't find any kind of program that can open these archives because they don't even have an extension. Like the first file is just 0. Not 0.xxx but just 0. Any idea on how I can get inside these archives?

I am interested in getting into modding Xbox games. I have figured out to open some file extensions, such as .big with EA Graphics Editor, but others like .ord and .orl and .off are confusing me. What about audio files that are .big?
