I actually own the 30 inch sony. I first bought the samsung 26 hdtv but returned it. The sony has better black levels and more real colors. the sony also automatically switches between fullscreen and zoom. That doesn't sound like a big deal, but it gets annoying to switch back all the time. Basically, if you got the cash, go with the sony, but it is a close call. Also, both for me were crt, if you lookin at lcd it is different.

Also, I should note, no matter which brand you buy of crt, you are going to have geometry issues, but sony has much less noticeable issue of it.

I should add, if I were to do it again, I would probably go with an lcd just because of the weight. Sony weighs 150 pounds and very awkward (spelling) to carry. LCD seems very nice now seeing as it weights less than half. wink.gif

dont get the samsung, i sell tv's and read alot of consumer reviews. the sound on the samsung is lousy0 and there is some distortion in picture at the bottom and top of the screen. you can really see it when you watch a news station and they have that info bar at the bottom. the slimfit technology hasnt been around long enough. read alot of reviews man, cnet is ok and consumer reports, if you can deal with size, the sony is worth it. they dominate the crt market, quality wise.

i have had my 360 from day one (11/22) and it has not once overheated... i usually play 4+ hours a day as well... also that pic is from the first day i got it. i put a piece of carboard under it after that just to be safe tongue.gif (its low pile carpet)

but i moved it though now it sits on top of the xbox1. my daughter knocked it over once when it was vertical.
