what does it mean if the x-box detects the DVD-R or CD-R as "Unknown"
The x-box knows the burnt PSX game is in my x-box, but it refuses to load up the game. When I transfer the game to the x-box's HDD - the game works fine...
Is it bad media, or something else?
I'm overwhelemed with this problem and extremely confused,
Thanks if you can help, honestly...

I am assuming you play this PSX game in an emulator. It just seems funny you can't see why an Xbox doesnt play a PSX game correctly and calls it unknown.
The Xbox looks for familiar layouts and files on a disk that are predefined. Such as when it find a game XBE it knows its a game, Music it finds tracks, Video it sees the disc in a DVD format. It has no predefined response for a data disk and therefore labels it unknown. It reads the disk just doesnt know what it's purpose is.

PSX games will only run as image, not from retail or backup disks. Best alternative if you dont want to put the image on ur hard drive:
Burn an UDF compilation containing the cd image as file.
I know, it sucks. Try reading the emulator NFO next time.

PSX games are in .bin and .cue format. I burned one to CD as data disc and xbox read but didn't play it, so i made the .bin and .cue into an Xiso using QWIX burned it and it worked. try that.

What's wrong w/ burning a game w/ UDF?
That's how I copy my x-box games. Why does it "suck"?

Take the .bin and .cue and turn it into an Xiso using Qwix?
How? I tried but no luck...

Please clarify. That statement is a little ambigious.
"How" as in "Please teach me how to use Qwix?" or "I know how to do it but the resulting xiso won't work?"

Q: How do you read BIN images from off a CD or DVD?
A: Firstly, you need to burn your CD/DVD so that it is xbox-compatible. Put the CD/DVD
into the XBox DVDROM drive, load up the emu, go to the game selection screen and
continue up the directory tree until you get a listing of all the drive letters on your
XBox. The R: drive is the DVDROM drive. This information is located in the TXT file
that accompanies the PCSXBox release. Read the TXT file.
FYI, xbox-compatible means an xiso. How exactly can we help you?

Using Alcohol 120%, I have a .bin and a .cue from the PSX game I own.
Someone said that taking the .bin and the .cue you can make an Xiso which might fix my problem. How do I make an Xiso is essentially my question.
Thanks

Okay.
Get an xiso maker from the xbox-scene.com Tools section. Qwix is nice and easy to understand.
http://www.teamavalaunch.com/qwix/You can't help but understand it. Run, choose Create Image, specific files to include (the bin/cue) and let it run. burn the resulting image (XISO.. ISO.. all terms) with Nero/DvdDerypter/Alcohol etc.
Burn it *as an image* and don't just burn the image file to a data disc.

Are we using a different version of Qwix because what you said makes no sense when I try it

Or you can just use some program like deamon tools to mount the image on a virtual drive, copy all files form it to your hd and then make iso from that.

I burn them as a .CUE/.BIN or ISO.
my xbox detects the game as "Unknown" on evo-X. Once i load up PCSXBOX - It detects the game such as "BUSTAMOVE4.BIN", but when I click on it, it just goes to loading screen for 1 second and quickly goes back to PCSXBOX...
I've spent hours on this and it seems I am doing everything right but it just isn't working..
Anyone have any suggestions?
Oh ya, btw, when I send the same .CUE/.BIN file via FTP to the xbox HDD - the game works fine!
