okay. i installed an Xecuter3 chip in my xbox and i also got one of those faceplates
with the lcd screen and switch on front. I turned it on on and the flash screen came up.
i tried burning a few cd's and dvd's but none were working. finally, i tried one more cd
and i was looking at my computer when all of the sudden my xbox turned off. So i thought
it worked but when i switched it on, it jst turned itself on and off a few times then stopped.
I dont know why but it only works if i turn off the chip. Once i switch it back on it wont even
go back to flashing screen. what do i do!!

What version is your Xbox?
What bios did you use?
What size was it
What position were the dip switches?
Does the 256kb backup bios boot?

im using a 1.6a xbox.

the bios was X3_3294.

the bios was 1mb.

the switches were set for 1mb.

i have the faceplate so i put swich 1 and 2 on and 3 and 4 off.

and i dont know how to boot the backup 256...

also, i think i should have used a different X3 3294 for 1.6 but i didn't find
out until after i already tried the regular one.

Backup 256 is power and eject together.

You should definitely have used the 1.6 version of X3_3294. There's a reason it exists.

i booted the 256k backup and it worked.

now do i turn on switch 1 and 2 and off 3 and 4 again and try to reflash it with the 1.6 ver?
