look at the header pins...... i used a lil too much solder and released a bit late and see what happens... xbox turns on off on off then goes into frag (green red green red green red). Would the soldering job be a cause to this? i think so right? X2.6 on a 1.5 xbox. any quick techniques to fix this would be appreciated, dont have desoldering tools right now and i want to fix it tonight!

Go buy desoldering braid.

Desolder it.

Resolder it correctly.

Really can't see much with that crappy picture, but from what I can make out there's solder connecting several pins on the LPC bus.

BAD. You're short-circuiting several of the signals that need to get to and from the chip.

Desolder everything and resolder it.

ok guys i found some braid in the basement and resoldered perfectly, at least i think its perfect. But I'm still getting the lights, and its not turning on. wuts the problem??

heres a better pic of the fixed soldering job

might not be able to tell from this picture but nothing is overlapping and header is on correctly and the 3 wires are soldered to the correct locations. what could be the matter?
HardcorePooka
I'm going to guess probably a lifted trace or something...

Or it's still not soldered properly.

And you still can't see squat in the picture. We need up close clear pictures of the LPC

Whats a lifted trace and how to fix it?

Did you solder the d0 in the wrong place then rectify it?
Looks like theres a solder pad missing next door to the d0, like its been said before we need a close up.

Your best bet would be to consult an expert rather than having another cack handed attempt yourself.

Unfortunately for me i don't know any experts around where i live so that is out of the question.

But yes i did solder the d0 in two spots, it sliped to the point on the bottom and it got soldered to 2 points, but i took care of that.

I would really appreciate it if someone told me what a lifted trace is. Thanks.

Should i just desolder everything and solder the xapter, which will make everything much easier?
slimgrip
A lifted trace would happen when you removed the d0 that you soldered in the wrong place.
Great care is needed when desoldering.

ok thanks it was something with the d0 point and the 2 ajacent points, i took off the solder from the other two points and it seems to have fixed it.
