Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem to this or knows of anything I can do.

When I bought my 360 I had a Live account from my old XBOX, but didn't have a net connection so have been playing offline since last December. I happened to name my offline profile the same as my Gamertag because it's the name I use for most things.

Last night I had ADSL installed, so I migrated my old profile over to the 360. It detected that the offline profile and Gamertag were the same and so I had to merge them into one profile but after it had completed the new xbox live profile has none of my achievements or gamerpoints and none of my saved games are accessable.

I'm pretty annoyed since I had got pretty far on most of my games and now I have to start from the start again, I'm relatively sure that the actual files probably haven't been deleted from the hard drive but are just missing somehow and was wondering if anyone knows of any way to retreive them and reassociate them with my Live profile.

It is probably due to the fact your IP address has changed. You need to call Live support and have them transfer your account and info and associate it with the new IP address. I'll bet the info is linked to the old IP/MAC address.

I seriously doubt it's because of the IP/MAC address. IP addresses can change and MS of all people know that.

It's probably just a bug with the conversion from offline to online.

This leads me to a question I have about Live profiles. Are all my save games uploaded to my Xbox Live account somewhere? That would be awesome because I lost all my games when I sent my 360 back for repair and failed to take off my hard drive. But I had one of those free 1 month accounts prior to. What are my chances for recovery?!

No. Save games are not uploaded to xbox live. That's the whole point of a memory card and hard drive. The achievments are supposed to be there.

It has NOTHING to do with the IP address...

The profile managment is setup to prevent people from cheating...

Think of it this way, Action replay could create a profile with 10000000 gamer points, you rename it to your Xbox live profile and viola you now aquired all those gamer points for free...

same thing with save games

you may still be able to salvage your save games but your gamer points are lost for good...
