I have modded the dvd drive according to the best instructions i could find and the drive is working except for the eject. the drive wont eject a disk unless you use a paperclip... when i press the eject button the drive makes a noise and resets the box but the thing wont open... when the tray is open the drive will close the tray as soon as you turn the power on and it does read disks fine... if anyone has done this mod and can offer any advice i would really be greatful.

i am trying to get this thing to work because my old thompson keeps giving a dirty disk error.

Only thing I can suggest is to recheck your solder points against the tutorial, Make sure they are clean and not bridged. Also make sure where your pins go into the yellow pigtail is in the right config. If the points are right, and clean I'd say it's most likely the yellow pigtail interface.
