has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

when i switch to 480p the text is readable but the graphics are ass-tastic. when i go to either of the hi-def modes, the graphics are sick but the text becomes so tiny that alot of it is unreadable.

has anyone else noticed this? pretty stupid to not add in an option for text size if you ask me.

It is the beta version mind you, they will probably add a larger text option in the final version.

Yup someone tried talking to me and by the time i typed in 2 letters they were gone lol I didnt care for this game much and will delete it. I just dont like those types of games.

everything is barely readable. I think the graphics are pretty bad in 720p too though. I guess for an MMORPG they're alright, but I think Guild Wars has better graphics(read: GW is much newer however).

what do you want for a free game. i want to play this game but there is no way ill be paying a monthly fee to keep playing. enjoy for now.

you gotta remember, this is a port of the PC version of FFXI which is a port of the PS2 version

@_@

hopefully theyll listen to the gamers and give us a graphics update, otherwise, i dont see them getting too many new players on 360.

Being as this is a Beta this is one of those things to report.

But I agree, If I didn't know about switching the system to 480p,
I would think this game is totally unplayable.

if you put all your text at a sort of purple-ish color, it doesn't bleed so much, and it's readable. Not comfortable still, but oh well. I really wish there was headset support, as I don't have a USB keyboard(I have a laptop), so getting a party together when I reach level 10 isn't gonna' be fun.

A little clarification:
The PC version was released prior to the Playstation 2 version. Therefore, the PC version is not, in fact, a port of the PS2 version. If you go on any FFXI forum I'm sure you'll still be able to find posts reffering to the annoying "PS2 Noobs that are flooding our servers!" from when the PS2 version was released.

I really wish they'd spend a little time retouching some of the textures, especially the sky, which is super dull. Also, in hi-def, when you get close to land textures, they get so pixelated it's ridiculous, there are some techniques that could fix this.

I played it in 1080i (my tv only does 480p and 1080i) and while the graphics were quite nice you are correct that the text was way too small. I don't know what it looks like in 720p but in 1080i it is unplayable because of the text size.

the server was down for 'resolution maintence' the other day, maybe they were working on that.

either way it is a beta, so im sure it will be fixed by the final release.

maybe someone whould send them and email or sumthin, although im sure the issue has been brought up already
