I have installed many SmartXX Ver 2 mod chips in the past. I am now trying to install a SmartXX Ver 3 on a 1.0 Xbox. I can't find any instructions. So I broke off the little D0 tab, installed a pin header and connected the D0 line per the Ver 2 instructions. It won't work. It just frags. As soon as I disconnect the D0 line the Xbox works as normal. I have double and triple checked my soldering. I have soldierd the D0 line directly to SmartXX, by passing the connector. I have used the connector and soldiered the black ground connection to the board and connecte the blue D0 wire . Nothing seems to matter. I am not a newbee. I have been doing this for 3 or 4 years. I must be missing something in the installition procedure, that I do not have.

I bought a Smartxxv3 chip and install it by followin the steps
when i turn on my xbox it makes some wierd noises and then it turns offf , the light is blinking red

1. First i opened da xbox like it sayz in da guide

2. then took out da dvd rom hard drive etcc

3. then check ma Chip it iz "C O N E X A N T:

4.Remove da screwz from mother board N took da motherboard

5. Remove the pin shown in da picture from da distributed

6. Solder the holez for pinheader

7. Place da pinheader in holez on da xbox

8. IsolatedWires:
White, yellow, green, black

9. Solder the DO Cable(purple) az sayz in pic

10. connect the powercable leadin to da dvd-rom

11. connect da adapter cable to da plug on SmartXX v3
