i have a decent pc (specs below) & completed call of duty 2 on it when it was released at maximum settings, do you think its worth me buying it for the 360? i have heard some people say that it looks better on 360 than it does maxed out on a pc but i have also heard it has slowdown on the 360, im not trying to start a console vs pc debate but i need to know before i spend £50 on the game

AMD Athlon™ 64 FX-57 Processor
NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX Extreme Edition
SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC3200 Dual Channel Platinum Series
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium

is it a different game for 360 or an exact port. If its the same game I cant see why it would be smart to buy it

LIES

There is never slow down on the 360 version.

I guarantee the person who said that Never even touched the 360 version and is fanatical biased pc whore.

If you played COD2 on PC at max settings, then no, the 360 version does not look better. I have a play my Xbox 360 and use my PC both on my projector, and the PC version looks a little better at 1280x720 than the 360 version at 720p. There is no slowdown in the 360 version. But aside from multiplayer(PC being much better), they are both the same exact game. Not to mention, controlling with mouse & keyboard is better IMO. COD2 is the best 360 game at the moment, but if you already played it, what's the point of paying to play it again?
mgamer20o0
save your money. its just like the sports games if you have it on the xbox its not worth buying on the 360.
lostboyz
i wouldnt buy it again, and to address the multiplayer issue, an update is supposed to be out tmrw to fix it

That would make sense if cod 2 on 360 was anything like the cod big red one for xbox.

Totally different games.

Hmm the first thing I noticed when I played the CoD 2 demo on the kiosk was that it lagged in the very begining... (Of course it wasn't anything horrendous, but it still did)

Anyway, its not worth it. And if the Demo has the same graphical quality as the full game, then expect back trilinear filtering.

And its still the same game....

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Theese are all lies. Everything good about the game youve read is all lies! Even though it is the highest rated best selling XBOX 360 game available, DONT BELIEVE THEM! They are all trying to get you to waste $60USD!
I posted this before i read all the other posts, and after reading them i need to say that i was being sarcastic and to anybody on this thread that downplays the greatness ot COD2 for the 360, youre F%^&*ING idiots, what the hell would it take to make you happy? This game is leaps and bounds above anything youve ever seen for a console game. From what i heard the MP is weak but thats fixable. Ive played the SP campain numerous times and its Jaw Dropping, YEAH I SAID IT! Also last but not least the guy who compared it to the XBOX version(the big red one) IS DEFINATELY "SLOW"!

i just rented it and beat it over a weekend.

i have actually really been contiplating(sp?) buying it just for that reason... especially in this dry spell of 360 games smile.gif

The 360 CoD2 looks amazing, but if you have a capable PC, it will look better. The two main reasons are:

1) No AA in 360 version (AA eliminates jaggies)

2) No Anisotropic filtering in 360 version (keeps environmental textures resolution maxed in the distance)

That being said, even with these two filters enabled, it's hard to tell much of a difference while playing.

Plus, i enjoy playing with a controller over a keyboard and mouse (i realize you can use a controller on the pc, but there is no aim assistance like there is for console FPS).

Thats what im trying to say, the game on veteran is extremely gratifying! Its not cheasy or cheep, 2-3 shots and your dead! Its somewhat realistic if there ever was a realistic video game?

It's not as hard as I heard it was going to be. I've had it for 2 days and i'm about 70% done on veteran. Should be done in two more days or less is my guess.
mikedavis2838
i beat it in 2 days on veteran, from what everyone was saying i thought it was going to take forever.

Maybe just maybe it was a playable, though handicapped, version of the actual game!!!!

AMAZING I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU DESERVE A NICE THUMBS UP!
Deftech
why are you bothering? if you want attention, simply ask for it. Dont bring 4 month old kiosk demos into it. rolleyes.gif

You only played the kiosk demo, and if the demo had *some* slowdown, it still has is no significance in this matter.

By the way, I played the kiosk demo maybe 10 different times at 4 different stores and not once did it ever slow down, regardless of the kiosk being set up correctly or not.

Tell the Shepherd I say Hello and his days are numbered beerchug.gif
Marrvia
The ACTUAL full version of Call Of Duty 2 has ZERO slowdown. Kiosk demo has nothing do to with anything. End of discussion.
mike_jacko
i have it for pc and rented it for 2 weeks on 360...pc at 1280x1024 dont look as good as my hdtv dunno..but the 360 has more of a realistic look too it...but i only have a geforce ti 4400 lol
langlest
thanks for the info guys, i had a think about it and decided to go and buy it, imo it looks as good as the pc version but now i can play it from the sofa so thats a plus cool.gif i didnt actually buy the pc game but owned it anyway if you know what i mean ph34r.gif so its nice to have the original in my collection
Master X
I was going to say no but you already bought it. Once you beat it the game has no use anymore, online play sucks balls.
mike_jacko
online should be fixed today i think..."patch"
