The stupid update killed our precious little kiosk disk sad.gif but it did at least bring one thing I noticed about 30 seconds after getting the update - when you put in a music CD, it actually shows the names of the tracks now! Finally ripping my music collection (legal) to my 360 won't take years naming all of the tracks.
Sanitarium
It did that before, at least for the one CD I ripped.

Are you sure? It didn't for me, before this update it'd just say "Track 1", 2, 3, etc.

yeah ive ripped 5 cds and played many other in there (including a burnt one) and all of the track names came up instantly. i didnt even see any lag in it connecting to a server.

only cd that i had to name was one from a no-name local band.

it displays the track names if you are signed into live, it probably uses CDDB to list the track names.. which requires internet access
Necrophiliac
I think it does use the CDDB, it has always displayed the album info as long as you were signed on to live.

If you don't have a connection to the internet the 360 will not put the names of the tracks on there for you. Or if you do have an internet connection but you put a CD in that you created and is composed of different songs from different CD's and CDDB can't recognize it, it will not put the names of the tracks on there for you.
