Mine keeps freezing every other minute... I cannot even play a whole stage before my xbox360 freezes... sometimes barely even a checkpoint. I admit my 360 does have a few freezing problems when it overheats(even though it is well ventilated) but this happens when I just start up my 360 and pop in COD2... it is cool to the touch and I can't figure out why it is happening... it never happened before the update but now it is happening

Damn that sucks. I never experienced any freezing problems before and after the update.
The game plays fine and its simply awesome.
I would imagine that your system is a dud. Send it to MS or return it.

try a different level, maybe the disc got messed up

i cant EVER join any games on live after the update... are people just not playing or is mine screwed?

they just havent got the capacity for all the players !!! thats why you get those messages
