after watching the vidoes on gamespot...i cant wait for the rest of the sites to review or get hands on.. and the footage they should...my jaw dropped and i was stunned by how it plays...wow....

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/tom...utoplay=6144247

article " From what we've played so far, the flow of each mission will be fast-paced and fluid. You won't go into any mission with a clear set of orders; rather, you'll have some sense of how the tumultuous situation in Mexico City is progressing, and you'll receive further intel as you move from place to place, getting new orders directly from the top brass overseeing the operation "

vidoes here enjyo this (downloading the video is way better than watching it on the web)
http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/tom...con3/media.html

and also i heard with a week or two weeks in prior before the release of marh 9th of graw...a demo will be released in XLliveplace.....

but until then enjoy it...

i read the preview last night. the only thing i didnt agree with, and i know its all opinion and based on perception, is that they dont think the final game reaches the video shown last year at E3. IMHO i think it looks better then that early footage, except for the lack of an onscreen gun, and has more of a realistic edge to it. again you will have people who favor the current look and those who want was shown at E3. other then that a lot of good news was said in the article. i swear i dont think i can read or see any more of this game, i need it now.

First off, I'm very much looking forward to this game and have been drooling at the screens. But I just find it amazing they don't have a gun on screen in 1st person. That is such a faux pas in the FPS genre, and it does take something away from the game, even if it is miniscule, when looking at the game as a whole.

PLEASE ENABLE VSYNC IN THIS!!!!

...so it doesn't look like a bad transmission like Perfect Dark and NFS MW. The tearing is looking awful...when everything else is so incredible! To me this is like putting $40 tires on a Ferrari. Make THE WHOLE GAME next gen...not just the graphics, but the animation too.

Sorry for being ignorant, but what are you saying in layman's terms? Thanks

Thank you. I think I get the gist of it now.

I hope there is VSYNC......
KAGE360
honestly, even though it was an issue for some while playing PDZ, i think i may have noticed it only once while playing through the single player, so hopefully it wont be an issue in GRAW. while its nice to have, i dont think its so "black and white" as to have v-sync on or off, especially with the new hardware that developers are still coming to grips with.
Category 5
The thing is...it would be incredibly simple to enable this as an option, just like they do in PC games. In fact, on PCs you can force or disable vsync at the driver level.

I for one would love the option to be integrated into the console itself. Then, those who don't notice tearing can disable it, and those that are bothered by it can enable vsync. I for one stopped playing PC games before this option was enabled widespread. I can't stand tearing.

I saw tearing on a few xbox games too...I could not stand it then either. IMO this "was" one advantage of consoles...optimized engines running in sync with a KNOWN refresh rate.

It is just too bad next gen titles have this age old anomoly. I suppose it will disappear in time as developers learn the system, but only if they know it irritates consumers.

Is this 'tearing' common on consoles? I just can't picture what this looks like. Is this something easily overlooked or not easily seen? I hope I'm not one of those people who can't see these imperfections, only cause I don't like to miss stuff.

its not hard to miss but it bothers people on different levels. like i said before i only noticed it maybe once while playing through PDZ and that was a big issue with the game.

my question though is what kind performance hit, if any, does V-sync create? from what i understand, no v-sync allows the framerate to match the refresh rate of the monitor while a v-sync controls a set frame rate. so if that is all there is to it, why dont devs just enable v-sync and allow a set framerate? if its 60fps great, if its 30 then that is still great for an action/shooter game. im sure im missing something out of all of this because the achieved frame rate cant be controlled just like that. maybe i should search for and read over again M_heals explanation of frame rates and v-sync.
Master X
Yeah, I didnt really notice it in PDZ. I only saw it a few times in the first level after that it was I didnt notice any tearing. The thing is PDZ didnt have good graphics and GRAW has awesome graphics. Tearing wont look good on a realistic looking game rather then PDZ's shitty cartoon like graphics. It wont effect me that much but I know some people are really picky happy.gif
Deftech
I noticed it in pd zero right away.

tearing is almost as bad as jaggies IMO.

grr.gif
Master X
I would rather have tearing then having jaggies.

I just don't get why people are so stuck on having every game have every little possible option.

I'd like to think that the dev's over at UBI know what they are doing to create a game at this high of a level. I'd also like to think that they are aware of the V-Synch abilities.

Basically, I think with the time they were given, they created the best game they could, and it will be leaps and bounds above what we are currently playing. I also think that talking about V-Sync on a game that you haven't played yet might be a little premature.

And that talking about it at all is just a little silly.
Category 5
Talking about it now isn't premature...it's the only chance for UBI to take notice and fix the problem before release.

...and vsync doesn't force a fixed frame rate...it limits the maximum frame rate to that of the refresh rate, and only allows whole frames to be rendered as opposed to partial frames.

comment like your make the developers more lazier then ever!!!!

we're not been "premature", most of the video clip shown has vsync issue, it cannot be the recording as they are from different source.

vsync don't take that much processing power, well my cheap ass graphic card for PC can do it. and the power of the 360...like 20 time better!!!! & they are given 4 months extra time to tweak this game. rolleyes.gif

complain BEFORE the game is released is better then crying after launch.

you say UBI know what they're doing...you damn right...make $$$ at the end of the day. ph34r.gif
thats why they took out "first person weapon view" from the X360, and gave it to Xbox and PC (which retards in deveploper team decided which format gets what? ph34r.gif ). so they know most 360 owners & hardcore (or not) fan will end up buying the Xbox version as well, if not the PC at least.

though i can live with vsync issue...but the game better not have ANY jaggy (PC screenshot looks waay jaggy free). mad.gif

UBI is well known for giving us buggy games too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The camera in GRAW will be a 'gun cam', like in the prvious Ghost Recons and Socoms. The camera isn't positioned at your head like most fps camera modes with the weapon in view, it is at the end of your gun barrel. Where you point is the path the bullet flys. Think of it as the Halo sniper rifle scope.

I won't shed a tear for tearing.

I'm currently playing on a CRT, and I've only seen tearing in PDZ a few times.
It really wasn't that big of a deal.

If GRAW ends up sucking or living up to the hype, I'm sure tearing will have very little to do with it....

I stopped reading posts after most was bickering so dont kill me if this is a repost(side note, some of you truly need to add one another 2 ignore, stop saying you will and just do it).

Heres a 3 page writeup at TeamXbox..

Ha, I have high hopes for this game.

I never really bothered with the gamer scene until I got my 360, so being used to crappy PS2 graphics PDZ blew me away, and according to most they were pretty poor? Got me amped for this.

And tearing? Never noticed it in PDZ, but ive only been playing online, is there a problem with it on live too? As someone said, I cant picture it in my head.

Allso, will this game include the 2x anti-alasing system? That basically spoiled PGR for me, Jaggys EVERYWHERE as they didnt have time to implement it.
