It's finally done! MPH did it again! After his downgrader he now released Game Launcher, a way to run GTA on your PSP 1.50. This method is confirmed working and you can download the launcher on his website. MPH clearly states that this the GTA version, and will release the full version next week.

I also removed the link to the file. It contains copyrighted files from Sony (namely the PRX and flash components).

The reason why it freezes at halfway is because you have an invalid save, most likely the CheatDevice.

incorrect, i had the save i used when i played it from the retail UMD.
i got it working now.. went and bought a new memory stick... i think mine was corrupting games over a certain size... i had issues with spider man 2, and ridge racer, both large games.. now all three work flawlessly

Eh, it wasn't incorrect in my case. That was my only problem. As soon as I got rid of the cheat device, it worked perfectly.

Hopefully SF3 will work. I have read Socom campaign works if you start with a game save, but multiplayer won't work. I could give two craps about playing gta.

This isn't a site run by "content holdings". While some people get banned here.. and cry foul and say we are corrupt.. there are other places on the net, specifically sites run by content holdings that are. Cooked reviews.. ads up the ass, you get the idea.

Anyways.. as long as links to illegal files aren't posted or linked to.. discussion and instruction isn't a problem. (no links to torrents etc either though.) People can use their own mind on how to get stuff. If they are smart enough to find XS.. they are smart enough to find everything else.

Arent you a bit hipocritical there? I remember in the IRC channel people were banned because they answered other people that were looking for the best prices on modchips, and they gave a site which wasn't an official X-S sponsor. And i see plenty of ads on the mainpage of xs. This is not meant as an attack on this place, because i would just leave if i didnt like the info here(forums).

Also.. nothing hypocritical about our reviews. They are honest.. we work hard on them.. they aren't rehashes of spec sheets and regurgitated marketing. They also aren't bought. As I said.. content holding sites are notoriously corrupt.

And our ads.. are placed in such a way as to be alot less obtrusive. I hope you aren't suggesting that we should somehow survive without ads at all?

Xantium busts his hump to keep us afloat with the minimum ads necessary. Despite some retards (not yours) claims to the contrary, Xan is not getting rich. We need some ads, and he's balanced the needs of the site, his needs, and the need to have ads very well.

Yeah someone was asking on how to download Xbox games I believe, i thought he might like the site. And i didnt know the site was hosting those files. I didn't know the files were illegal and shouldve researched more i admit, but a warning would prevent me from doing that again. Everyone can make that mistake imo .

There have been some reports of trojaned packages of MPH Loader from p2p and rapodshare links, to be safe only download from MPH's site.

Just incase you guys didn't know, a UMD loader has been released for anyone who actually owns GTA and doesn't want to take up 800 megs on their memory stick.

cool, found it.. if you already have MPHgameloader on your psp to run GTA from MS, all you have to do is replace "mphloader.prx" in the mphloader folder in root of stick and it loads the UMD

Illusions, have you tried loading ISO's with this still? I'm curious if that still works with the 1.1.

ill try it, right now my MS is pretty full with Infected, and the only other 2.0 required game i have to try is megaman....

Once I'm done transferring the flash0/flash1 folders, I'll test to see if ISOs still work with the new version.

Edit: After my PSP strangely freezing the first time I tried to load the GTA ISO with version 1.1, it worked perfectly the second go around. Seems as if those claims that 1.1 would remove ISO support are false, eh?

1. is MPH actually going to disable iso support in future releases completely? or is this just a rumor?



2. I read on mph's website that he was working on the multiplayer and sleep mode for the loader, is this for loading isos, or umds , or both?

1. We obviously haven't heard anything directly from MPH yet, so these statements can not really be confirmed or denied. I would assume that MPH would keep ISO support, though.

2. The sleep/wifi support will be for both UMDs and ISOs.

After a little bit of thinking and tinkering, the team found the answer where else but at the back of the UMD disc itself. According to them: If you see a small #2 Illusion will work. If not...wait a few days until I make it compatible to the other versions. This device does work online.

Using this actually a moral debacle. On one hand you want to have every sort of advantage you can get your hands on, but on the other side of the coin lies the idea of fair play and honesty. We leave it upon you to make that call.
