I just ftped over xbmc that build in my topic title. It boots up and it shows the splash screen and then goes black. Does it run an ftp server when it has an error so you can fix it? I edited only 2 things the splash screen, (same size, same format, etc.) and the startup music (wav, a tiny bit longer). Whats going on. I left it for a long time last night, to see if it would eventually come up but it didn't. Any help would be greatly appreaciated., otherwise i will have to use the mem card exploit to ftp and fix it. Thanx tons,
SCott

You should reload the last copy that worked for you.

Thats the problem. I can't because it won't ftp. I'm wondering whether it realizes there is an error and it sets up an ftp server so i can fix it. I just realized i can't get any game save exploits on the hd so i cant ftp that way. Whats the solution? Is there some pc software i can use to put the save on there, or do i have to use the hd maker. The only problem with that is i need a copy of the C: for that. Any suggestions would be wonderful. Thanx alot,

Providing the screwup isn't too bad most times XBMC has gone into FTP mode and pulled info from either a previous install or another dash (i.e. my old avalaunch.xml is still on C:). That said, when things get botched beyond the point where the FTP doesn't come up and you are using XBMC as a dash.....you better have a boot disc with FTP (evox/xbmc/any dash or program can do this) ready to go and configured to your network. If you don't - I imagine you will be learning how to make one and will have one for the future.
If you used the UDE dual boot hack, then you are likely lucky. You can boot your xbox with ftp by booting it with the DVD tray open. It will boot into a linux and you can ftp it.
Otherwise, I have no answer. I once destroyed my dual boot files and had to open the box, connect the disk to my PC, use xboxhdm to unlock it, restore C: files, lock it and put it back into xbox. A painful experience.
